Ask about games!Oooh boy. @turboherne got to ya before-hand but that doesn’t mean I cannot answer the remaining 24 questions! Long post ahead.2. First console you owned?Nintendo Entertainment System. My uncle had his from when it was new around here, with the obvious Super Mario Bros. to boot and opted to give it to me. I have no clear recollection of my time with it…4. Favorite video game character?Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia. One of the many favorites, but this guy ticks so many boxes I think he deserves a mention. Experienced (does not set-up a generic plot as a protag), but learns to tackle with blurred lines of governmentally and… mentally legal, also a very good supportive person and has some of the most captivating combat choreography in recent memory. Oh, and both his English and Japanese voices are fucking great. At one cuil I would turn gay for him.6. Favorite genre?Fighting games, pretty much. Single player action (Japanese role playing) games are often my main jam though.7. Video game character you’ve had a crush on?Any waifu I’ve ever acknowledged at all. List includes, but is not limited to Milla Maxwell, Tifa Lockhart and Ling Xiaoyu.8. First video game you remember playing?Ask #2 is a vague answer, so I’ll just say Crash Bandicoot on PS1. 1998 Christmas.9. Age you started gaming?I was five when I got that PlayStation and it was after that when I actually started investing time in this counterproductive hobby.10. Hardest video game you’ve played?Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Often times I don’t get to play at all, wtf!Beaten games include Monster Hunter Freedom, Dark Souls, Tales of Xillia 2 on Hard, Devil May Cry 3 SE on DMD and first-timer Zone of the Enders 2 on Hard.11. Video game you’ve spent the most time on?Dissidia 012 with over 1000 hours, perhaps? Old games like Crash Team Racing go waaaaaaaays back, don’t think I have no other games at such hour counts… most Monster Hunter games take me 200 - 400 hours to play through so that won’t be a thing.12. Most embarrassing gaming moment?> 11-year old me sees Tekken Tag 1’s opening with Kazuya’s transformationMe: “KAZUYA IS TOTALLY UNKNOWN”… it’s embarrassing in hindsight!13. Scariest video game you’ve played?Metal Gear Solid 5 and Dark Souls compete hand in hand. Yes, I am not into horror games but I think Fatal Frame on Wii U will happily take this spot once I’m done with it.14. Most memorable gaming moment?Facing Dr. Neo Cortex in Crash Bandicoot as a kid.Does Metal Gear Rising count?16. PC, Xbox, Playstation, or Nintendo?PC with a PlayStation controller.17. Gaming company you’re most loyal to?I continue to have faith in Square-Enix. They will one day make a port that doesn’t suck and finish their highly anticipated blockbuster titles.18. If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, which would you choose?Xenoblade. Getting 100 % in that game is a worksite that never ends.19. Do you use strategy guides? Not too often. I bought one for Metal Gear Rising out of sheer curiosity to see if it was well-done and I was pleasantly impressed in the level of detailed information it contained for a straight-forward game. Bits and pieces like notable unlockables I haven’t figured out after the credits are often a thing, some challenge run videos help me realise what can be done in my own attempts.20. How often do you use cheats?Seldom. I don’t come across too many games that may demand considerable modification right off the bat (e.g. Mother’s double EXP or Metal Gear Solid 5 Hardcore mod)21. Competitive or single player?Competitive. It is what ultimately drives me. Single players are fine and all, I get to enjoy something myself but in the end sharing experiences and being part of them with others is what makes gaming a very worthwhile emotional investment, moreso when it is about improving.22. Video game character you want to/have cosplayed?Jecht from Final Fantasy 10. But first, let me build abs.23. Ever go to a video game convention? Not really. The ones I’ve wanted to go to are either sold out in two minutes, too far away or I don’t have the money, time and motivation to attend them. From the few I HAVE attended though were nice, bodied casuals in Tekken 6 once and won my PC goodies including a keyboard I still type with.24. Hardest boss fight you’ve been in?Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate are undefeated to this day.For a beaten one I’d say a LV75 late game boss from Xenoblade. Sorry, no spoilers! Too many people have yet to play through the game.26. Favorite gaming series?Monster Hunter. Loyal to the end even if I dislike investing time in the games nowadays.27. Do you skip tutorials, or find them useful?I tend to skip tutorials if a game tries to be too formal about or does not let me practice it on the go. Things are often explained better by my friends or other knowledgeable people. Informal education is the best, getting down to the details of the metagame right off the bat, not this slowpaced “you can also jump with the x button to avoid taking damage” crap. That is why I appreciate games like Metal Gear Solid 5 where literally anything you can think of is probably possible one way or another. The game tells you a thing or two and some irrelevant information can turn out to be the most vital piece of information you come across all day. Fighting games tend to cause similiar instances as well, but not too often are people willing to sacrifice a few minutes to test it out. lol28. Best online gaming experience?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUvjRwgmeAA29. Worst online gaming experience?Tekken Dark Resurrection Online. All the lagging Spanish people who abused Lili’s cartwheels, Bryan’s sweeps, Paul’s demoman, Law’s junkyard kick mixups and King’s throws. There is no way it was made for human beings. Not as far as winning was concerned anyway. Both input delay and frame rate delay were often a thing, connection was sometimes unstable even with people within the same country (and trust me Finland is not that big).Well that was a load off my shoulders. lmao
