Hassle-free Christmas and New Year celebrations? I think I found the best budget friendly buffet for Christmas and New Year celebrations. It’s at UNO at Waterfront Mactan. The special buffet spread includes: Gatchalian Leachon, Roasted Turkey, Baked Salmon, Christmas Honey Glazed Ham, Chicken Relleno, and Lengua Champignion. I had the chance to try all of them and I was very impressed. Everything tastes familiar like home and exquisite like a luxurious hotel. The Gatchalian Lechon is very Cebuano in flavor: The hallmarks of a true Cebu Lechon are remarkable: strong aroma of the lemon grass and other spices, the saltiness of the meat, and the crispiness of the skin. The taste is even comparable to that very popular Cebu City lechon in the late 90’s. Gatchalian lechon is available in both Waterfront Hotel in Mactan and in Lahug Cebu, you can order whole or by the kilo. They must have used a prime grade salmon too. It is firm, fresh, subtle with hints of sweetness and creaminess. The Turkey was amazing. It must have been brined for so long. It was moist and soft; very good. It comes with special desserts too. The traditional Macaroni Salad, the Ube Cheescake and my favorite Yema Cheesecake. Enjoy this special spread along with the other regular items on their buffet for only P1,188.
