My Romance Scammer - YuNorth Ep. 7
How to bag yourself a rich heir, a guide by Yu/U (beginner edition).
Step 1: Go on the internet and follow advice you read there even if you've always heard that you shouldn't trust what's on the internet (maybe this time it's true):
Step 2: Go to place rich people love to hang around them. What they're saying on internet is that rich people like nature hikes.
Step 3: Make your target feel safe with you. Bonus point if you spend the night with them "all above board" (find any good excuse).
Step 4: Give them a cheap, but meaningful (remember it's all about what you say and not what you think) souvenir so they can't forget you.
Step 5: Get married even if you've just met them, especially if they give you big dowry. There will be time later to think about your next move.
Important warnings:
Just go with the flow you succeed in just a few days! You're charming enough to overcome any difficulties that may arise later. After all, you just got your rich heir!
Disaster for disaster love!
These two are just on their own plane of existence of dumbassery!
I think it's safe to say that Pai will obviously forgive Tim faster than some might want, but I think the show was always kind of setup in a way to do that. From the get-go, the show told us two things about Pai and North. 1. Pai lived his life tired, overworked, and undervalued. 2. North was babied by his grandfather but parented by Pai. Both scenarios in which the boys didn't enjoy.
I've been thinking about why Yu (U?) lied to North in the first place. Like North asked Yu to marry him after a day of knowing the guy, and nothing else about his family, work or background! He saw him at a pretty low-key restaurant working as a waiter. Yu could have taken him to his rundown, shabby apartment, and I feel like North would have still been okay with it! They were already married! He didn't need to lie because the boy was scamming himself and was willing to throw money at the problem whenever necessary. So why did he feel like he had to make up this fake house, fake achievements and fake family for a fish that willingly fell into his net?
(Boy really said if there is money, I ask no questions lol)
My first guess- habit? He's so used to scamming and lying that he works best under the guidelines of a lie. But that's not supported by evidence. In fact, dude is a pretty bad liar, all things considered. He has yet to lie convincingly to anyone with half a brain (sorry, North).
My next guess is ✨childhood trauma ✨. We only saw a glimpse of his real mother, but I have a feeling she did a wonderful job of making him feel like he wasn't enough, and he would never be enough unless he pretended to be someone he wasn't. He's a scammer by accident, not by choice, because he was never given any other options. It's the only life he's known.
(Lol he's got a face with subtitles, like damn Ohm!)
He is an optimist, like North points out. But it's not because of his family, it is despite it. And I feel like this moment is what triggers him to create a lie. He wants the lovely family North thinks he has.
Because the second his mom is back, all it takes is one sorry, and he is ready to forgive her and take her back. He is an optimist! And he desperately wants to be loved.
So even when North married him for who he was on that hike, no questions asked, it wasn't enough for Yu to believe that's who North would be happy with.
I don't know. It's just an interesting choice to me that Yu lied. North's stupidity is saving him, legally speaking, right now, but if he's played sitting duck, North would have still been legally married to him, and he'd lose nothing.
