Well, he recognizes her. He's startled at seeing her, having assumed that she would never come to the factory, but gradually amused. He had just written her off as a weak thing, one of Leith's lackeys. It's both an opportunity for revenge and a chance to fix an assumption, which is usually bad for science.

With the new update in Chapter 5 where the player’s vision is surrounded by blood and they’re stumbling after getting impaled by the Prototype and emerging from the Poppy Gel, they can’t sprint or jump either. They’re shaking even more while holding the grab pack. I love how immersive and realistic this update is. Plus the new Prototype jumpscare is him impaling you and not the "Kiss of Doom" XD

I honestly feel bad at this point. The player is either in a lot of pain or very numb because of the poppy gel and the trauma they've been through. With Zeon being my oc for the player, he's been put through the ringer. God knows what will happen to him and Catherine in chapter 6 :')
