Unovan-ization
@umbraprince
He always thought he’d be the last person to be a food snob, but here he is, being a food snob. And while he likes Unova (especially for its many mountains and beautiful caves!), they can’t seem to get the hang of any food that’s slightly foreign.
Roark rolls a piece of broyé du poitou in his hand, feeling the crust fall apart into a crumble of disappointment. When he arrived in Nimbasa City that morning and found a so-called “authentic” Kalosian bakery, he decided to treat himself to a broyé to last him through his day trip in the desert. It was not good.
And what is a broyé du poitou, exactly? It’s a butter cookie. Just a big ol’ butter cookie, big enough to feed a crowd. It’s customary to break it into pieces by punching it. When he was a kid, it was a family tradition for his Dad to beat the snot out of a broyé before heading out to Iron Island, and they would eat it over the weekend.
He’s not sure how they managed to mess up a butter cookie, but he does know he has way too much left and he’s not very interested in finishing it. And Roark hates wasting food.
Looking down, he shakes his head and closes the box. He decides that he’ll just give it away, or feed it to the bird Pokemon, or something. Approaching the shop he bought it from originally, he sees someone start to enter. He flags him down.
“Yoo-hoo!” he greets. “Can I save you a few bucks and have you take this off my hands for me?”
