The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been unveiled in New York City and via livestream at Unpacked 17, and the successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 that some believed would never arrive on the market has dawned.
After reporting on the arrival of the phone itself, we know that many of you might be interested in getting your hands on accessories for the Galaxy Note 8. Depending on the customer, these accessories can help get the most from the new Samsung smartphone and introduce new capabilities to the market. If you are considering the upgrade, one or more of these accessories may interest you or could even sway you to buy the new Galaxy model. Let’s dive in!
The DeX Station first debuted with Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, allowing customers to place their phone on the device and extend their phone screen to a larger monitor by way of an ethernet cable. “DeX” is short for “Desktop Experience,” and the goal is to extend the functionality of what you can do on your smartphone while charging on the DeX Station. Those looking to be more productive should give the DeX Station a try.

The DeX Station returns with the Galaxy Note 8, letting you extend your phone to a full desktop monitor or TV for whatever reason you may need. DeX now allows you to continue conference calls without interruption, and Samsung today added a bevy of new partners.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8, as is true for all phones, needs a protective case, and Samsung will have your new productivity device performing well and looking great.
First, there are two new clear covers for the Galaxy Note 8: a Clear View Cover and a Clear View Standing Cover. As the names suggest, these cases are designed to show off the design of your brand new Galaxy Note 8. The new device has a bezel-less look and a dual-edge display that you’ll want to show off to your relatives and friends.
The Clear View Standing Cover takes the Clear Cover look a step further: whereas the Clear View Cover shows off your phone only, the Clear View Standing Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 allows you to stand your Galaxy Note 8 up and watch TV shows, movies, and YouTube videos.
Fast Wireless Charger Convertible
The fast wireless charger convertible is another special accessory for Samsung Galaxy users, as it allows device owners to charge their handset without plugging it directly into the wall, even at a fast rate. The wireless charger convertible can extend itself to a stand if you need it, or stay as a flat-lying charging pad if you desire. You can switch between the two modes, something that isn’t possible with the Korean giant’s earlier charging pads. The new wireless charger convertible comes in Black and Gold colors, which blend well with some of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 color options.
Another accessory in Samsung’s lineup is a 256GB microSD card. Samsung manufactures its own microSD cards in the same way that it makes its own SSDs, wireless charging pads, cases, and battery power banks. The microSD card can store all different kinds of data including even VR games so that those interested in Gear VR with Controller don’t have to worry about a storage shortage.
Power banks, or battery packs, are known for extending battery life, and Samsung is back with another accessory of this kind made for the Galaxy Note 8. The new 5,100mAh power bank for the Galaxy Note 8 bears the model number EB-PG950 and gives you extra juice for on the go. You can choose between Blue and White colors.
The Keyboard Cover first debuted on the Galaxy Note 5, so it’s understandable that Samsung would continue with this accessory. If you’re looking for a physical keyboard on which to type emails and texts but want to be able to remove the keyboard at times, Samsung’s Keyboard Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is what you need.
The Galaxy Note 8 Keyboard Cover serves two purposes: first, it’s a physical keyboard when you want to type out an email and feel the keys beneath your fingers as if you’re typing at a stationary desktop PC. Next, it serves as a cover, protecting your phone from damage. The Keyboard Cover doesn’t get in the way: when you’re done with the keyboard, put the cover on the back of your phone and go back to adoring the Infinity Super AMOLED display once more.
The LED View Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is designed to give you access to the display without having to even open the case to do it. The LED View Cover projects the time in such a way that the case highlights the time rather than hides it; you won’t have to open the case to know what the time is throughout your day. The LED View Cover lets you swipe to dismiss or answer calls, access notifications, and so on, so you can keep your phone protected and make the most of its functionality too. Three colors are available: Black, Blue, and Purple.
Clear View Standing Cover
The Clear View Standing Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 allows you to place your display in landscape mode and stand it up on a flat surface such as a table, desktop or counter-top. It comes in three colors.
The Galaxy Note 8 is a sleek and smooth device already, but some buyers are strong believers in protection and don’t want to lose that sleek feeling with a case. The Alcantara Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is designed for those who want more of a suede feel to their device as well as a case to protect their new “precious beauty.” The Galaxy Note 8 Alcantara Cover, in addition to its suede feel, is also stain-resistant, durable, scratch proof, and hand-washable with soap and water. There are 4 colors to choose from: Black, Pink, Green, and Gray.
Protective Standing Cover
The Protective Standing Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is one of Samsung’s newest additions. The new cover is military-grade in its constitution, meaning that it can withstand bumps, drops and impacts of all kinds. The device is not only protective but also a standing cover, with a kickstand on the back of the case that props up your Galaxy Note 8 when you want to watch multimedia content. The kickstand is detachable from the Protective Standing Cover so that it won’t break if too much pressure is applied to it. The Protective Standing Cover comes in two colors: Black and Blue.
The Protective Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 is more of a Clear View case that lets the design of the device shine while still providing protection for your device. The case is only 0.95mm thick and comes in 4 colors: Black, Blue, Lavender (Light Purple), and Gold.
The 2Piece Cover for the Galaxy Note 8 gives you two small pieces to cover the top and bottom portions of your new device. The 2Piece Cover, announced earlier this year for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, feature suction pads with different colors that could be mixed and matched, but Samsung has reigned in its color choices by eliminating the bright greens and pinks to stick with sleek colors such as Black, Blue, and Purple.
The 2Piece Cover protects the most vulnerable parts of the Galaxy Note 8, especially the dual rear cameras that have now graced the Galaxy Note for the first time, along with the bottom portions of the device including the USB Type-C port and speaker. You still have access to your device’s ports and all because the remainder of the Galaxy Note 8 is “naked,” but at least there’s some protection where it counts.
Samsung has a large number of accessories for Galaxy Note 8; there really is something for everyone. Every Galaxy Note 8 will ship with AKG jack earphones ($99 value) and customers can add a new case, the DeX Station for enhanced productivity, new Gear 360, or the 2017 Gear VR headset and controller, to suit their tastes and needs. These accessories are designed to add style and functionality to what is already one of the most functional smartphones on the market. Galaxy Note 8 buyers can also pick up an additional S Pen if the first gets lost. Samsung describes the pen as the new “intelligent” stylus that comes with more pressure points and greater sensitivity so that it feels more like an everyday pencil or pen. The intelligent S Pen can now translate full sentences into native languages and convert currency right before your eyes on the screen.
