"Markel recently rebranded our company and adopted a new color-theme and logo and found TONS of Markel merchandise on hand with the “old” logos and colors that was used for past marketing, recruiting, etc. events.  So, we did some spring cleaning and told employees they could buy the items for a fraction of the original cost and held a “sale” yesterday from 11-2 in a conference room.  We had tables and tables and tables of shirts, jackets, mugs, mouse pads, tote bags, picture frames, golf balls, pens, travel bags, etc.  And by the noon lunch hour we had a line down the hallway of people waiting to get in and shop! We sold almost every single item and netted $2691.50 which is coming your way on behalf of team “Markel 4 Massey!” - Kelly

Update #8-Last Day/School Experiences

So tomorrow is the last day of school for me. The last day that i will be known as a sophomore. Crazy. This school year went by so fast,but it was so full of busy work whether it were doing something for band or Yearbook. And on top of that of course there was school work and the need to have down time with my friends,which i usually only found (occasionally) after school or even during my lunch hour.

It honestly doesn’t feel like the school year is coming to an end,but at the same time i feel quite sad that i won’t be seeing a lot of people until late August (besides my marching band friends). I feel like this was the first year in so long that i got really attached to people. I mean i actually did things non band related. Things with friends who weren’t in band (Nothing against my band but most of my friends are in band,js). One of my favorite experiences I had was going to an ROTC Drill Meet. Some might not think that’s very adventurous,but it is for someone who never does much outside of band (except football games,but because i have to).

Anyway, I went to support my friends in drill, Justin and Wallpe, with my friend Jenna and her family. At first i had no idea what to expect,except for a bunch of cute guys in uniforms;) I turned out really enjoying myself,and thats what i love most. Doing things i normally wouldn’t.

This kind of shifted into another topic,but the point is ,is that this year brought me so many great opportunities and memories that I’m going to keep forever. I’ve also met so many wonderful people like Justin and i got closer to Wallpe and Jenna. I guess all i would really like from junior year is incredible experiences and to meet more wonderful people. Maybe even a relationship with a very special someone;)

Now this has become longer than intended,but if you’ve read this then thanks,i guess. Also i hope you have a great last day of school,and if you’ve already started summer break then i hope you are making the best of it. Don’t be like me last summer i spend a shit load of time on Tumblr and Twitter and i regret it. Please,i just ask that you make something of it as i hope to do.
