I totally get that 2016 sucked in a million different ways. Lots of amazing people died (many too young) and there were some massive, worrying political upsets. A lot of people wish 2016 never happened, or that we could have a do-over. And I absolutely understand.
But 2016 gave me my son. And he is unquestionably the best gift I’ve ever been given. Just as he is.
So, I don’t think I’d change a thing. Not if it could possibly risk changing him even the tiniest bit.
That being said, I'm definitely ready for this year to be over. Here's hoping 2017 is a lot less deadly.
