I think there’s a mutual resentment between Black men & women that’s built up since slavery times. It’s all due to our assimilation into a foreign culture that destroys a sense of self and community. As soon as we spiritually, mentally and socioeconomically separate ourselves from it (noticed I didn’t say physically separate), the sooner our relationships will begin to heal. The very act of making the conscious effort to separate shows the self preservation and solidarity needed to build trust.
