hmm i don’t know if there was like a specific moment?? at least not that i can remember, but in high school i had a board position at my school’s spanish honor society (bc im a native speaker) and i used to organize all the volunteer events at neighboring dual immersion/bilingual elementary schools and for a really long time i wanted to work at a dual immersion school

but then i started learning korean in my sophomore year thanks to my school friends who were korean and after like a year of learning they were like “hey you’re actually pretty good have you ever thought of moving to korea” and i was like dude wtf would i even do and they told me to teach english and when i looked into the programs i was like omg this is what i’ve been looking for

and now here i am just waiting to finish college so i can apply to the programs, i graduate this fall & can apply while i’m still in school but i need to start saving a loooooot more money which is hard bc i’m ~unemployed~ thanks to covid so we’ll see what happens
