Dedicated to @azure-mei for all the work she’s dealing with. Here, have a short break.
Fandom: Elsword
Pairing: ArmeLK
LK is stressed over the load of paperwork on his desk. Aside from fighting demons and protecting people, he has other things to do like writing reports on casualities and damage, which can be really tiresome.
He worked and worked without paying attention to the time, maybe he understands his sister's struggle now, she is the captain of the Red Knight Mercenaries, her work is probably double.
His eyelids are heavy and he rubbed them. "Just a liltle more..." he told himself.
He tried his best to stay awake but failed miserably. He nodded off, his chin rested on the table, his hand let go of the pen and his eyes slowly shut tight. The last thing he could see was someone stepping closer quietly and he felt light.
Morning came. LK wakes up in his cozy bed under the bright sunshine coming from the window.
"If you're still tired, sleep some more."
He turns around and sees Arme sitting in a chair with a book in his hands. Arme seems fine but his voice showed concerns.
"But," LK said, "I havent finished my work yet."
"Don't worry, I've finished them for you," Arme replied.
"Really? You shouldn't have."
"Yes, I should. I said I wanted to help you and you agreed. Yet, you didn't ask for my help when you needed it, you tired yourself out instead."
"Ah, well, you'd already helped me in the battle yesterday and I thought the paperwork would only take a while," LK flustered.
Arme stares directly at LK's eyes. "A while? Your 'a while' is 'a few hours from evening till morning'? We are in the same dimension, our time passes at the same pace, Elsword. And don't you think I don't know that you hid your obvious wounds on the arm that you used to wrote all night."
LK is even more flustered, his arm got better...he thinks. Did he really work that late? Listen to how angry Arme is, the answer is probably yes. God, he shouldn't made Arme worry, this is his fault.
Arme let out a sigh, "Elsword, don't you need me?"
"What?" Arme's question take LK back to the reality, "Of course I do. You have always helped me through hard times. I'm grateful to you, it was a blessing that I met you."
"...It is a blessing that I met you, too. You, Elsword, are a blessing, to me at least. That's why I wanted to help you. Can't you rely on me more? Like a family? No, just like friend or a companion is enough. I want to share your burden, I want to be there for you when you need...When you act like you can handle everything on your own I feel relieved that you'll be fine without me, but at the same time I feel so distant, so redundant."
"I...You aren't redundant. I'm sorry for making you feel that way. I do see you like my family, Arme. It's just that I'm already 16 now, I have responsibilities to take, I don't want to ask for help with every liltle things in my life like a child. I'm not a child anymore."
"Nor a fully mature adult. I understand that you have responsabilities, yet you're only 16, Elsword. You're young, you're still inexperienced but your responsibilities are heavy. Please, let me help you, even if it's trivial. You look so lonely when you act tough, almost sad. I can't stand seeing you like that."
The sadness in Arme's eyes is too much for LK to handle. Arme has his point.
"I'm sorry for making you worry," LK breaks the silence, "And thank you."
"Thank me? For what?"
"Everything."
Arme looked at LK's smile and suddenly, he's speechless. Maybe he was overreacting, maybe he should have controlled his emotions better than this, maybe he shouldn't interfere with LK's life too much for they'll part ways sooner or later. But it's hard, it's painful, it's...goddamn it.
"I guess I'll sleep a little more."
LK's statement rescued Arme from his newfound hell of emotions. Thank Goddess he's so blessed.
"I won't bother you then," Arme said, stood up and walked to the door, "Goodnight."
"Good morning."
Arme closed the door behind, his lips curled up into a smile. Guess he will make something for LK to eat when he wakes up.
