Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card

Clear Card story arc was just as good as the original CCS series. Im glad its taking the right path to a good plot thats as good as the original. I can tell. All questions are usually answered at the last remaining episodes but for the first time in the whole, CCS series, Clear Card didnt fully spill out the tea, but instead, left us scratching our confused heads after the final episode. Although its frustrating, im glad they didnt rush and jammed a sh☆t load of things into this episode. I am sure there will be a season 2 and I am definitely looking forward to it. At first glance I wasnt expecting a season 2, probably because I was used to the first CCS series that straight up had a season of 70 episodes lmao. Im fine with it though, as long CLAMP isnt rushing the plot.

The series still has a lot of mysteries to uncover. We were only given bits of answers. So I hope all of it will be answered in season 2. One of the main mysteries resides in the new characters (obviously). Akiho is a new character introduced in the Clear Card arc and is also a friend of Sakura. Turns out, Akiho and Sakura are somehow connected to each other (literally) to the point where they start to “synchronize”. The fact that Akiho looks like Sakura’s mom, Nadeshiko, makes her even more mysterious. Some people say that Akiho is a reincarnate of Nadeshiko, like how Eriol is a reincarnate of Clow. I didnt know that she would play a big role in the series, because I was so focused on the bigger problem, Kaito.

Looking back at the first CCS series, the only “antagonist” was Yue. Yue’s role was to determine if Sakura or Syaoran was worthy of being the next Cardcaptor Master during the Final Judgement. If the candidate fails, he would wipe out the feelings and magic memories and Keroberos would have to choose another Cardcaptor which is honestly messed up lol. As for Eriol, I dont think that he was a full antagonist at all. He was only trying to make Sakura convert the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards. Although yea he was a d☆ck for putting Sakura in dangerous situations, but it was for good intentions. He wanted to make her magic power stronger. He didnt even fight against Sakura (That’d be cool tho lmao) throughout the whole series, he’s not AGAINST her for f☆cks sake.

Kaito is a whole new antagonist for the Clear Card series. He stole a powerful magical object that shouldnt be used. We still dont know his intentions on why would he take such risks to the point where he gets kicked out of the D-Class association, just to steal and use that object, and thats what makes him a bit mysterious. I have a feeling that he is going to be an actual villain for both Sakura and Syaoran. Wanting to use Sakura’s magic to activate this magical object, and heck, bringing Akiho into this mess. What the heck is this guy doing. I hope they dont mess this guy up, because so far, he seems like an interesting villain to me. This butler has something up his sleeve.

A key was also given to Sakura from her great grandfather. Not much was told about the key other than it used to belong to Nadeshiko. I am sure that this key will reveal a lot of answers we never knew. It is most likely Nadeshiko’s magic item, which means that she was a Cardcaptor or something else. Now thats mindblowing. This key is definitely important.

I dont understand why people are hating on the new characters in my opinion. Although yea I gotta admit that Akiho is pretty plain, I think theyre alright and essential for the plot. As to those who say that the anime is boring, because it displays the usual storyline (typical slice of life bit-new card appears-sakura seals the card), true fans will know that this is normal in the series! You gotta deal with it because this storyline in the anime is just like any other mahou shoujo anime like Sailor Moon! There are bits of plot sprinkled as the show progresses so dont worry its not that bad of an anime! There's plot and character development!

On side note, the full song of Rocket Beat came out im shook its so good?? It sounds more mature than the original ccs opening!! Its so goddang serious and mysterious but I love the chorus,,, it gives me an everything will be alright or dont give up sh☆t vibe and it sounds amazing. Its my favorite among the other openings.

I found the anime really dissapointing.

I am mostly dissapointed in the characters, almost all of them actually. They were given 10 episodes to better themselves, but in the end, theyre all the same, just like Aqua's f☆cking stats for god's sake. I hope they get better in season 2 because im praying to Kami-sama right now that this show doesnt end up trash.

Kazuma is a great leader when it comes to strategizing, but he doesnt really try to improve his teammates from the start. Each of them have their flaws to fix, and he doesnt give a sh☆t about it. Well, he did try to help Megumin practice her Explosion Spell, but all he did was to describe the explosion, carry Megumin, then walk away. He doesnt even say anything that would help Megumin from falling. He just says "This explosion was better than the last" and not "Try to not use too much magic that'd make you weak" or some sh☆t like that.

Just like what Kazuma said, Aqua is a useless goddess. Well, sometimes. She does uses her magic to fight. What's really annoying about her is that she complains most of the time before or after a dangerous situation. She literally said that she wanted to go home when they were facing the Destroyer, that would soon wipe out the whole town. What the heck? Both Aqua and Kazuma become less and less serious to prepare for the Devil King as the series progresses.

I was waiting for character development in Megumin. When I saw that she could only use one spell, I was looking forward to her character as a magician that could use other spells aswell. Despite her love for Explosion, I thought that Megumin would come to realize that she cannot become the most powerful magician if she only knew one spell, but in the end..no other spell was learned and she has still not mastered her Explosion Spell. Megumin has to step up her game because her character development is just sad.

As for Darkness, her masochist character is meh. Its annoying but sometimes funny. Like the others, Darkness has her flaws. She cant aim her sword properly and has trouble hitting her enemies. Honestly, I dont give a damn about her using her own body as a shield at this point, but she needs to learn how to use a goddang sword because this b☆tch cant swing sh☆t. She's a messed up character overall (I read spoilers that she tried to rape Kazuma? Which is messed up man)

As for the side characters (who barely get any screentime), theyre all plain and get disposed after they have made use for the episode. Most of them dont fight alongside the main characters outside the gates of Axel, but when they do, they die instantly. All magicians, all adventurers, all arch priests, they just rely on those 4 low leveled children and praise them when they defeat the enemy.

The designs of the monsters look uncreative and uninteresting. They look so boring and plain. But the character designs are cool. So yay.

This is just season 1 lmao. Like I said, season 2 better be good man. The opening is alright. Animation is eughrgh..meh. uhh thats it.
