“That’s bullshit,” Marlene hissed, “They wanna fuck so you have to leave?”

“I know! I know,” You groaned, burying your face in your hands, “Why can’t they just go to a broom closet, or even just her room?!” You let your words hang in the air, suspended by frustration as you shuddered once again at the thought of them defiling your room, “But whatever. I’ll just deal with it, I’m not gonna barge in there and demand they keep it in their pants.”

“Well I am,” Marlene seethed, standing from her spot and hiking her bookbag up over her shoulder, “That’s not fair to you, it’s your room too. We’re gonna march right on up there, and send that poor girl back to her dorm, and then I’m gonna give them the lecture of a lifetime, I tell you.”

“So y’see,” James’s voice brought you back to the present, as strong and booming as ever, although it was laced with caution, “We’ve just been kinda.. tense.. lately.”

“Right,” You drew out the word, “I just don’t understand why it’s my fault.”

“Not your fault,” Remus sighed, running a hand over his face, “We’re not.. tense as in, like.. Listen, Y/N.” 

“I am listening,” You felt frustration rise in your chest, the stress of moving in with new roommates and feeling unwelcome not an easy feeling to overcome, “But I don’t understand what you’re saying!”

“Right,” Sirius bit the inside of his cheek, “You’ve heard of my reputation ‘round here, yeah?”

You kept your mouth shut, wondering if he was talking about the gets into detention five days a week reputation or the gets into girls’ beds five days a week reputation, and not wanting to guess the wrong one. Nevertheless you nodded hesitantly, waiting on a further explanation.

“Then you’ll know that I’m particularly fond of, let’s say, appreciating the female figure.”

You felt bile rise in your throat, replacing the frustration that had festered only moments before. Thankfully, everyone else in the room took Sirius’s statement as terribly as you did, James’s lips curling up into a grimace and Remus letting out a long sigh.

“Nice one, Pads,” Remus drawled, “You literally couldn’t have said that any creepier.”

“‘M not creepy!” Sirius insisted, “I wouldn’t have said it like that if you’d all just talk normally! Y/N,” His attention was back on you and it made your stomach sour, “Listen, I like to fuck.”

“I know,” You pointedly avoided Sirius’s gaze, staring at a fraying patch on your bedspread, “Why are we talking about this?” 

“Because,” Sirius pressed on, “I haven’t been getting any since you moved in. None of us have.”

hey guys!! so i’m super super close to 1.8K, thank you all for that!! immensely grateful for you all :D even though we’re in the middle of my 1.5K celebration, I wanted to plan out something for 2K, because that’s really big for me!! i was thinking something along the lines of a writing challenge. not much challenging about it but a deadline, i’m not setting a word limit or a ranking system, i just want to see what you do with some of my favorite tropes, dialogues, and prompts! if i ended up doing this, would anyone participate? I totally understand how scary of an idea it might sound, but i’d love to see you guys and your thoughts :D

also, i really want to finish and post user’s manual by 2k. if you’re unaware, user’s manual is a poly!marauders x reader fic i’ve been planning/writing/teasing for a while. it’s a freeuse!roommate!reader scenario, so it’ll be a bit dark for some people, but a lot of you have expressed interest in it from when i’ve teased it in the past and i’m just as excited for it as you are. just a little heads up on my planned trajectory for 2K, if any of you were looking to read user’s manual! (also if any of my moots wanna beta read/proof read user’s manual when it’s finished lmk i wanna make sure it’s perfect 😋)
