Gif Tutorial

This lovely anon asked if I could do a tutorial on how I colored these two gifs.

I’m gonna try my best to explain, and show how I did it.  English is not my first language, so I apologize if there are any typos. Also my photoshop is in Norwegian, so I hope you still understand what I show on the pictures, Okay, here we go :)

First you make the gif, and cut and sharpen as usual, Sometimes I sharpen  before I color it and sometimes after. (I don’t know if it makes a difference) The size I used for these gifs are 245x140.

Then it will look like this

First of I start with color balance. And I go to highlight.

Then I add curves (you can make it brighter or darker as you like)

Then you will have something like this

Then add levels

and brightness/contrast

then you have something like this

Now I will add some vibrance. 

Now add selective color

and vibrance again

and another selective color (both red and yellow are on the same selective color layer)

now your gif will look something like this

add another selective color

and brightness/contrast

That’s the last step, and you’re done. And the gif looks like this

You can add any text you like :)

Now for the other gif. You start with this

Add color balance

add curves

add levels 

and brightness/contrast

now it will look something like this

add vibrance

add selective color (yellow, green and black)

add another selective color (yellow and green)

add another selective color (cyan)

add one more selective color (cyan)

now it will look like this

add vibrance

add brightness/contrast

That’s the last step, and it looks like this
