From February 1954 - 72 years ago this month - Marilyn Monroe is pictured here in South Korea serving food to some hungry (and cold) soldiers. She interrupted her honeymoon with Joe Dimaggio to travel to Korea for this USO event. She is said to have told the Press during a subsequent interview, "I never felt like a star before in my heart. It was so wonderful to look down and see those fellows smiling at me."

Steve Rogers make-up headcanon...
I have this idea in my head that when Steve started touring with the USO girls, he used to wear stage makeup. And after that, he got so used to it, that he just kept the routine.
So by the time Avengers 1 rolls around, Steve's amazed by all the new products available and totally remembers his skin care routine. He shops with Sam and gets moisturizers, serums and fruity lip balms. None of the cakey stuff they used on him in the thirties and forties. He even gets light coverage tinted moisturizers and lash curlers- because Adeline (one of the USO girls) showed him how to do it once- and he still finds it fun and relaxing to curl his long lashes.
(Bucky totally loves Steve in makeup too, esp when steve goes down on him🥵)
Anyway... Steve loves self-care and in the 21st century, he gets to indulge in it without being made to feel guilty or like he's different.
Like, look at this picture (this was after he got booed off the stage)🔝 and tell me it doesn't look like Steve's got on some Max Factor foundation, brows done with some rouge & curled, mascaraed lashes!?🤨
