Ibn Shawḏab narrates from al-Layth b. Abī Salim who said: “I encountered the early Shīʿah in al-Kūfah. Shaykh Fawzaan hafidhahullaah said: "The khilaafah is by Ijmaa' (consensus). It was affirmed for Abu Bakr, then Umar, then Uthmaan and then Ali radhi Allaahu anhum ajma'een in this sequence. Due to this Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullaah said: "whosoever contested the khilaafah of any of them, he is more astray than his family's donkey."
