The Road Ahead... by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A stretch of highway I came up to in Canada just after the Roosville station. It was the open expanse of highway with no cars ahead (yes, I was checking!). Only hillsides and open fields were around me. This was British Columbia and a sight it was!
Railroad Crossing in the Mountains near Fernie by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I focused on the railroad equipment crossing for this image. With a backdrop of trees and mountains, it was this setting that I visualized.
A Long Stretch of Highway by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: Before I headed up to Glacier and Waterton, I'd come across this article on the web a photographer had posted (www.canadiannaturephotographer.com/waterton.html). I found myself wanting to stop quite often during the drive to Waterton. So many of the view he mentioned were amazing...truly amazing. And I hadn't even arrived at Waterton! This is a view looking to Pincher Creek to the north.
The Highways of Alberta by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While similar to the other image, for this one my focus was more on the highway with the van and truck just having raced by me. I loved the backdrop of the mountains and wind turbines too.
The Folds in a Hillside Around Walla Walla and the Columbia River Valley by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A roadside stop leaving the Walla Walla area one morning. I hadn't even noticed the wind turbines on the hillside/bluff above on the drive there the day before. So there I was driving along and, wow, I was so loving the view with the folds, ridge lines, valleys, draws to the south. Taking in this setting, the eyes would be drawn upward to the wind farm above with the blades caught turning in the wind breeze.
