Utmost has put together a capsule for Fall 2015 in honor of the most memorable/ iconic night club in American history.
Studio 54 was a popular New York nightclub from 1977 until 1981 founded by Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager. In the late 1970s, the club was arguably the best-known nightclub in the world. The club played a formative role in the growth of disco music and nightclub culture in general. In December 1978 Rubell was quoted in the New York newspapers as saying that Studio 54 had made 7 million in its first year and that “only the Mafia made more money”. Shortly thereafter the nightclub was raided and Rubell and Schrager were arrested for skimming 2.5 million.
The collection consists of a short sleeve t-shirt depicting famous patrons such as Andy Warhol among others, and a 6 panel low-profile baseball cap with the classic Studio 54 logo.
