Do you ever think about the fact that Mistborn was enough? I don’t talk about that series enough (mainly because Stormlight Archive is fresh on my mind) but the Mistborn trilogy absolutely blew me out of the water when i read it, I spent a lot of time sad over it, trying to find something else to sustain me when it was over. That didn’t come until the Stormlight Archive, and now I’m back in a limbo that can only be filled by Brandon Sanderson. it’s not that other books aren’t good, it’s just that they aren’t . . . brandon’s. Stormlight 4 cannot come out soon enough (but Brandon it’s okay tAKE YOUR TIME) (but serious thanks and hats off to him for hitting the 75% mark!!!)

back to the point. nobody is doing it like Brandon Sanderson is. i have ,,,, the utmost respect for him, and i can’t thank him enough.

there are some authors who write a trilogy or two. some who milk a series for what it’s worth. some who write just one novel, disappear for a couple of years, and come back to release a shitty sequel.

what i’m saying is Brandon could have done something like this with Mistborn. Mistborn is fantastic--phenomenal enough to get his name out there, to be well known and ascribed to his name forever. He could have written Mistborn and nothing else, and he would be remembered. 

yet he continues to absolutely bless us, dedicating so much time and energy to.. where should i even begin? the concept of the cosmere is stunning, and i didn’t mention this before, but he finished the freaking Wheel of Time! He keeps giving and giving. A feat as spectacular as Stormlight didn’t need to exist for him to be successful. it didn’t need to, yet it does. Because he sincerely loves and cares for his fanbase and his stories. there are a lot of authors who seem to get winded, or recognize the cash grabs at their hands and go the lazy route. But Brandon values his journies. It’s so obvious how much he cares--read through the lines of his written work--and I respect him immensely for it.
