Double Kill released the debut schedule for Utopia’s first sub unit: Shangri-La!

Recently, 2K announced the debut of Utopia’s first sub unit: Shangri-La. The unit is said to be composed of fie of Utopia’s vocalists, with the exception of Eden, who recently just came back after a short hiatus. Shangri-La is also announced as the total opposite of Utopia. Shangri-la’s sound is more focused on the vocals. They aim to showcase a more mellow, soft image than their usual dark and Fantasy one in Utopia.

Today, as they gear up for their unit debut, Double Kill finally released the full schedule for the unit. They also announced the opening of an art exhibit  at gallery located in the Itaewon District, to premier it’s art film.

UTOPIA reveals upcoming vocal line sub-unit: Shangri La!

Last year, 2K announced a possible unique promotional strategy for one of 2K’s old groups, Utopia. . With this, 2K decided to promote Utopia further by debuting sub-units. The conceptual group is said to be divided in two units: a vocal unit, and a rap duo. Today, they finally announced the sub unit for the vocal line: SHANGRI LA.

Shangri-La is one of the two Utopia sub units that consists of the entire group’s vocalists. The sub unit’s main focus is to showcase the group’s powerhouse and diverse vocals, while displaying  a soft, mellow yet strikingly elegant and artistic concept that Utopia doesn’t normally visualize. Their expected sound still has the art pop elements that utopia has, but milder.

UTOPIA, other former contestants of Who’s Next, and special guests doing a stage rehearsal for the upcoming concert on the 27th and 28th

As the upcoming reunion concert for the 2013 reality survival show that created 2K’s conceptual group Utopia, gets closer, the former contestants (including Utopia) were seen on the concert venue rehearsing and doing concert preparations. The host of the show, Jung Hyesu, and  special guests that includes Unplugged, Krokos, Jelly beans, Pandora, Creep, Crisis, 2Trbl, and Mellow’s Juniper and June were also present during these rehearsals. 

The sold out reunion concert will happen in two days: March 27 and 28!

UTOPIA released mv for SWEET LOVE, from the OST of the Chinese drama ‘Moon River’which stars UTOPIA’s Sparrow!

On March 11, 2017, Chinese romantic comedy drama released it’s official soundtrack prior to it’s television premier. The drama stars Utopia’s Sparrow (@sparwei) as the main lead. And it was also revealed that Utopia is featured in the drama’s OST! As announced before, today the group released the music video for one of the tracks entitled as ‘Sweet Love.’ 

The song’s genre is acoustic, and  talks about being in a pure, and innocent love that matched the music video’s fresh and mellow scenes. UTOPIA showed a different side of them than their usual dark, conceptual image. It was also reported that the non-Chinese members learned and practiced mandarin for the OST.

UTOPIA reveals comeback concept through teaser images as well as their shocking lineup changes!

Recently, Utopia made netizens curious about what their comeback concept will be through their first teaser.  Today, they confirmed that it’ll be a circus concept, as well as revealing the album title ‘The Night Circus’ through two more teaser pictures. But what shocked fans the most is why is there  only 6 members instead of 8 on one of the said teasers.

2K Entertainment followed up an announcement of the lead rapper, and one the main vocalist’s departure from the group due to personal and health reasons. They also stated that there will be position changes, and Utopia will continue as six-pieced group.

UTOPIA sparks curiosity on comeback concept in their first comeback teaser image.

UTOPIA finally released their first teaser image for their upcoming comeback a month from now, and it seems like Immortals (Utopia’s fandom) has various speculations on what could be Utopia's comeback concept this time.

Based on the teaser image released, a single concept can't be drawn out. Some speculated that it’ll be an animal-themed concept, while others were sure that it’ll be a circus concept.  Fans comment, "Ah I'm going crazy with these photos. I'll just wait for the comeback!","I give up guessing the concept.","Really? What concept is it this time?"

If you also have no clue, let's just anticipate more upcoming teasers.

Along with these teaser, 2K stated that they’ll release a special announcement about Utopia’s current status and several changes that’ll be made. So that’s another thing to look forward to.
