(1) Hey so I was wondering if you could help me out since you seem super nice and also really knowledgeable. I am a Norse Pagan, but recently (and by recently I mean like 6 months) I’ve been getting what I identified as signs from Apollo (still not 100% sure, but I am very doubtful by nature). This doesn’t surprise me since I’ve been obsessed with him ever since I got my first mythology book, but the prospect of actually reaching out to him is intimidating, to say the least.
(2) I’ve discussed the whole thing many times with my gods and they have more or less directly said I should definitely try contacting him (seriously; I’ve had Thor laugh at me for ever when I realized that MAYBE all the signs I was experiencing actually meant sth). But I have to admit that the whole thing scares me a bit. I know a lot about him and Ancient Greece in general (learnt Ancient Greek at school) and from what I’ve gathered, the Olympians seem much stricter than my gods. (3) So I really don’t know how to approach him, what I should be mindful of etc and was wondering if you maybe could help me out a bit, because this has really been stressing me for days. I just don’t want to accidentally offend him or be disrespectful, so it would be super nice if you have some tips on what to be mindful of, how to contact him etc (its totally fine if you don’t want to...). I’m a revivalist, so my worship is different than the ways of Ancient Greece--so, my experience with the gods, Apollo specifically, is pretty casual because that is what makes me comfortable and more genuine when building a relationship. My relationship with Apollo therefore is akin to a friendship, but that doesn’t mean Apollo doesn’t receive my respect (he’s still a divine being). In our relationship, Apollo can be strict, but he is like a life coach in that way. If he is strict with you, it’s for your own good (I’m sure any Apollo worshipper would agree lol!).
That being said, there is no one way to approach Apollo. You can contact him through tarot, prayer, runes, etc., etc.. You can really do anything (though I use a lot of divination because that’s Apollo’s thingTM, here’s a post on things I do). Again because of how I worship, I just lit a candle and gave him an offering (which can really be anything, but there’s lists of stuff for him out there. This might help you.) and introduced myself. And if your other gods are cool with it, go for it! Seriously, Apollo is the best and as long as you come to him with respect, you’ll be fine!
