( frostwnd Traveler ) "There's just something about birds. The way they fly free, you know?"
His lips parted, as if to say anything. It was rare for the Traveler to grace the folks around him with his voice. Sometimes it was a funny quip against Paimon (deserved?) or some sagely advice. Advice Alhaitham had kept close to his chest more often than not. Not that he'd ever let THAT be known. This time, however, had him of all people pausing in his tracks.
There was almost something melancholy with the way they spoke. Light, airy--like a bird's wings almost, ironically. FLUTTERY. Was there a hint of longing as well? Alhaitham often found himself looking deeper into things that might not have any actual deeper meaning. Perhaps the Traveler was being, well, literal. Birds were not limited to Teyvat's laws of gravity entirely. Obviously.
His mouth snapped shut at that. Alhaitham peered at him from the book he brought along for their little excursion. Sitting in a field, letting the wind dance in the blades of grass. Bright blue skies above them, and the warmth of Sumeru in his bones. It was peaceful and Alhaitham enjoyed some of the more mundane things after all.
❛ Say something. He's staring, ❜ Alhaitham thought to himself. Right. That would be what most people would want when saying something half-cryptic. Sure.
❝ Are they truly free? Think about bird migration patterns. Birds of Snezhnaya are predisposition to fly to warmer weather when in search of food. Safety. Instinctually they fly to the places they know--picked out by generations of bird genes. Where is the freedom in MIGRATION? ❞ is what he managed to say.
