BLOOD LUST || accepting.
Another gruesome punishment served by the Pontiff. This time the transgression was nearly insignificant; a mere slip of tongue in his presence, thus warranting disproportionate retaliation. No weapons were used but Sulyvahn’s own hands, crushing the disgraced guard’s spine---shattered bones breaking skin and flesh---with effortless brutality.
For a moment there, the Crow thought such unbridled wrath would be turned against him. If anything because he was the only person there, in the sacred cathedral’s underbelly, present to brave the unpredictable aftermath of Sulyvahn’s fury. One could never know what a man so odious would do next, what would his temper demand as a sacrificial offering. He wondered if this was the time when he would’ve to fight for his life against him...
Yet the hand that reached for his face did so with no violent intent, rather a gentler touch. Perhaps it was the smile on the Crow’s bare face, faint but unwavering, which beckoned a dangerous caress. In any case, it was unexpected.
The blood’s visceral allure was difficult to resist, dripping generously from the Pontiff’s fingers like crimson nectar. It awakened a dire need in him... primal and unwise.
He seized the hand, firmly so, his own limbs far stronger than they would appear. An impudent gesture, indeed, albeit not even nearly as bold as bringing those cruel fingers to his mouth. His pink tongue lapped at bloodied flesh with sudden, all-consuming thirst. Even a moan of pleasure escaped his wet lips while sucking on one finger---then two---eyes soft and half-lidded, shameless. Something lustful, decidedly obscene.
It was only when no blood remained on Sulyvahn’s hand that he would let go.

“Ah, the great Mother! The true Goddess of Justice! She who was the embodiment of Justice before that little moon-lit RUNT claimed such a domain for themselves.” There will be no kind words when speaking about Gwyndolin, nor any of Gwyn’s brood for that matter.
However, his love for Velka is not a wholesome sentiment.
“Then again... how could any of these false gods embody true divinity? THEY CANNOT! All of them are mere parasites leaching the power of the Flame; the one original Soul that sustains them, be the light or dark aspect of it.”
And thus they can die; the Gods and their kin. He’s been claiming their lives and blood for himself for centuries now. Soon none will remain.
“Velka has never wronged me, and she does seem to sympathise with humans --- or at least she finds a better use for them. Yet I care not for her reign, for her illusion of Justice and Sin, for Carim or anything else. It is all tainted by the same rot that touches all the so-called gods: She, too, shall die in the end.”
Dark Souls verse Crow is probably considered something vaguely akin to royalty or high nobility in Carim, being a legitimate descendant of Velka (a fact know only by a few select people) and most notably his favoured agent.
This is particularly relevant since I see godhood in DS as mostly political; a status of power, rather than true otherworldly divinity.
In the past, he acted as a sort of diplomatic agent/spy In Anor Londo during the golden age of the gods, taking advantage of their need to maintain commercial exchanges and other utilitarian relations with Carim. Back then, he made active use of his status for the sake of politics, even if Gwyn’s Court regarded half-breeds as lesser individuals.
Overall, he was treated with deference in Anor Londo, as protocol demanded given the circumstances. But the underlying disdain towards his mixed nature (and, later, his affiliation with the now rogue goddess of Sin, former goddess of Justice) was quite obvious.
He did, too, despise Anor Londo and the gods, though. There was never a desire in him to belong with them, but quite the contrary; to act against them.

The level of betrayal just festering like rot in every single aspect of this whole situation is indescribable. One way or another, there's always a treacherous intention at every turn.
Sulyvahn would instantly kill Crow if he suspected anything from him or if he saw even the slightest sign of abnormality in his behaviour. Any suspicion, anything all, and it's over.
Crow never goes against the grain --- he never shows all his cards --- but his intentions are utterly selfish and destructive, taking advantage of Sulyvahn's own schemes and reign to kill Gwyndolin... and then to ruin Irithyll.
No scorpion and frog, that would be too tame for them. These are two scorpions dancing with each other.
And mentor / apprentice, yes! Do you know why, though? Other than Crow's inherent interest in any potentially useful knowledge, learning certain magicks would help him blend with the people of the Boreal Valley. He can even cast Miracles by (secretly) using Velka's talisman, making the illusion complete.
Crow would say he is simply aiding Sulyvahn in his righteous endeavour to get rid of a common enemy, and then to eliminate the parasitic Flame. Yet there's a poignant moment of kissing his bejewelled hand and offering himself: "I am at your service." Quite solemn, if not somewhat tender... raw. Why? Well, as mentioned before, this bird doesn't go against the grain with Sulyvahn. He doesn't need to. The Pontiff's arrogance and tyrannical obsession with control serve him perfectly, as they are driving forces that seem to overpower his very reason at times. Nonetheless, a Crow remains Velka's servant first and foremost, he'd remind him.
Considering how heinous and treacherous they both are, yes, there's always a touch of toxicity between them. It goes without saying.
Listen, Eddie... (insert that concerned woman gif here 😨) while it starts as something sexual, there's definitely a romantic aspect to their relationship. DEFINITELY. It's inevitable, really. These are two bad bitches who speak the same (awful) language, a rarity, whilst being surrounded by those who seem an assortment of fools and brutes and dull people, and then all manner of enemies. Despite everything, they do understand each other better than anyone else. A feeling of true sympathy, of unwholesome harmony and communion; turning into love quite easily, which by no means would stop any of them from killing the other.

Mistletoe.
It was late at night --- what people would call such, for the sun was long ago lost to these lands. The city slept, except for the ever-watching guards and a few others. Among those still awake, two solitary figures met in a dark corridor inside the empty depths of the cathedral.
Then, an unexpected finding...
"People must be in good spirits to indulge such superstitions," he commented. Behind the mask, his eyes were fixated on the greenery hung from the massive archway above them. How curious! "I suppose the acolytes installed those as lucky or protective charms, perhaps?"
Either way, he entertained a dangerously amusing idea.
Quick as an arrow, he jumped on the pedestal of an adjacent column; two of them supporting the archway. Balancing his weight on one foot upon the base, his arm secured around the stony shaft, he found himself managing to reach Sulyvhan's towering height. A not so modest feat, admittedly.
"And yet this is a tradition I shan't mind honouring." It was a rather humorous remark, all the while lifting the mask enough to bare his lips. The Crow placed his free hand on Sulyvahn's bony shoulder, pulling him closer --- kissing his strange visage.
What an odd sight to behold; feathers casting a shadow on the Pontiff, witnessed by no one else.
