“ Do you ever miss Ferelden? I didn't think I'd give it a second thought once I was gone. I mean, what did Ferelden ever do for me? But I do. I think about it. “

When she heard the news about Kirkwall, she had been shaken. Part of her desperately wanted it to have been exaggeration, lies, anything other than the truth that sat like a poisonous stone in her gut. She had to know. Had to find them, find Hawke, find...
Getting to the Free Marches had been difficult. Finding Hawke had been easier than she would have thought. Maybe it was their shared blood, calling to each other, clinging to those last remnants of family from across the sea. Maybe because Hawke let her find them.
“He’s a grey warden,” Caitlin told them, her voice shaky, but sincere. “We take care of our own.”
Now, after all this time, she found him - them? She approached slowly, not wanting to startle. What was she supposed to say? What could she say? Words felt thick in her throat until she finally spoke with barely any strength to hold them together. “Hello old friend.”
This is a dream. It has to be. There’s no way he got so lucky in life. After resigning himself to a life of solitude, a life without meaningful connections in favour of freedom it’s impossible that such a thing could happen. It can’t be the reality that out of the whole of Thedas him and Hawke would end up here in Kirkwall and their paths would cross. It’s crazy to think that he could meet someone who managed to ingite a spark in him that he thought he snuffed forever. He’s in love, it’s no use denying it. Hopelessly, irredeemably and forever.
Then when it comes to the list of unlikely events, could he truly believe that he’s actually lying in Honey’s arm while the boat they borrowed gently rocks in the lake? Surely not, these sort of scenes can only happen in romantic novels, likely the type Varric writes. Too cheesy? He’d hardly care for anyone’s judgement. It really truly is perfect.
“ Pinch me. “ He murmurs as he burrows his cheek more into Hawke’s chest, pressing a gentle kiss there, his hair loose and messy as he sometimes shuffles into a different position. “ Actually I know how this will go wrong. One of us moves too quickly and we end up with an overturned boat and soaking wet. “ Craning his neck he looks up at the love of his life and offers a brilliant smile. “ On second thought, that still wouldn’t ruin anything. “
@hawkeyde | boat cuddles as promised!
“ I've tried to forget about this side of myself. Justice is... so strong. Sometimes the Wardens seem insignificant. But seeing that poor bastard brings it all back. The Darkspawn taint. The call of the archdemon. It's inside me, as much a part of me as Justice. “

Muses getting married- potionsandkittens , maybe after chantry during the mage/templar war ?
💐 - Our muses are getting married.
@potionsandkittens
This was madness. Caitlin would admit she had done a lot of mad things or been apart of some truly harebrained schemes, but this had to top them all. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, Maker no, she teared up every time she thought about when he asked. It was just...dangerous, she supposed.
His hair had grown a bit longer and with a heavy amount of scruff there was no way anyone would recognize him. They hid their staves, wore incredibly plain clothes, and had found a small, out of the way chantry run by just the one sister and a younger acolyte. Caitlin had never been anywhere near the village before so no one would know she was the Hero. She was just Caitlin, a nice girl traveling with a nice man that she loved very much who had finally asked her to marry him. And with the chaos of the mage-templar war, there were quite a number of young folk getting married.
They were standing before the Revered Mother, hands together, hers shaking. But when she looked up at him, she couldn’t help but smile. They would be fine. It was alright.

“That was nice work back there in the cavern,” Nathaniel tells the fledgling Grey Warden mage as his eyes sweep her over. “Stroud has been boasting about you.”
And it’s true. The Warden-Commander of the Free Marches has had much good to say about this young mage, Bethany. She was tainted on an outing into the tunnels from Kirkwall, he heard. More about that… expedition had come to their attention as well, as it turned out. But that was a conversation for another time.
“I mean to ask you if you would be interested in helping the Fereldan Grey Wardens with a… peculiar task that may benefit from your magical skill,” Nathaniel said then. “You can say no, of course. I won’t steal you away.”
“ The Rite of Tranquility is the whole problem. If they didn't have that to hold over us, we'd have so many more options. They're forcing our hands. There's no way to change things peacefully. If it's Tranquility or death, we have no choice but to make every confrontation a life-or-death struggle. “

❛ I won’t lie. It hurt. ❜
“Of course it ruddy hurt,” Caitlin scolded. “It was a bloody slaver’s spear through your LEG!”
