@harleyridin wants vampire au.
It had been weeks since he had seen anyone. After his incident from his last mission, he had been on leave. His head was pounding, his eyes couldn't handle too bright of light and his gums and teeth hurt. But that wasn't the worst of it.
The craving for blood was concerning to say the least. Normal food was losing its appeal, it tasted far from horrible, hell he could even taste things he didn't normally, but the irony was it did nothing to satisfy him. Only blood could do that now and the hunger could be so intense. It was a nagging gnawing sensation in his stomach and his throat felt so scratchy and dry if he didn't have any. The mornings were the worst as he felt so tired and so damn thirsty and starved.
Claire taken the liberty of bringing him blood bags. It felt risky but it seemed his body was changing and he needed sustenance of some kind. He could hear her footsteps going up the stairs of the apartment building, hell he could faintly hear her heart beat before she even entered the building. All his senses were dialled up to eleven these days.
He hated how eager he was to have his next meal, how the only thing that gave him the slightest bit of energy was the promise of another delivery of a cooler of blood bags. How or where she was getting them he didn't know and he didn't care.
There were some safeties in place as they tried to keep physical contact to a minimum but despite their circumstances and in spite of his new found cravings, he missed her. He missed her company, her warm voice, her gentle but firm spirit, her convictions, his closest and most trusted friend.
And he couldn't even hug her. "You really don't have to do this." he said, trying to keep compose as his all too eager fingers fiddled with the bag, the plastic crinkling as he opened it and started drinking from it, sucking it up dry like it were a capri sun.
But he was so glad she was. Yes, there was temptation in her being here but she also kept him grounded otherwise he might go stir-crazy under quarantine.
He licked the blood from his lips, already his throat was feeling better. "I don't suppose they're any closer in finding out what the hell is wrong with me?"
