his eyes narrowed, the king immediately scowling. was this a question or an accusation? combat was his strong suit, not words. fingers twitch idly, as if in search of a weapon something, as he contemplated the other’s query. she sure posed a lot of questions for someone who knew they ought not to be here — for someone who should have learned by now to hold their tongue. still as stone, he continued to watch her, expression neutral. this was clearly bait — a trap of some kind. but his answer would be true… it would be honest. ❝ one who takes and keeps the power is its holder.
