Robin let out a groan, tossing her book bag onto the table she’d snagged at a local coffee shop. Running an army? She could do that. Help run an entire halidom? She could do that, too.
This school thing? Not quite so much. It hadn’t taken her long to figure out that she wouldn’t go far without a degree in this Euclid world, and she supposed she should count her lucky stars that the knowledge she’d accrued from her real life (old life?) was enough to get her the equivalent of a high school diploma (whatever that was) and that she was at least in a more flexible environment.
That didn’t mean she had the hang of things quite yet--she’d quickly discovered that lectures were most definitely not her thing. It was all she could do to keep herself awake during them, and she knew her notes wouldn’t help her at all when it came to studying.
At least she had textbooks.
And, she supposed, it could be worse. She could have the same schedule she had in the army--long, late nights and extremely early mornings.
But the point was, this college thing was weird, and she wasn’t sure how she felt about it yet.
“All right. Might as well get started,” she muttered to herself, pulling a textbook from her bag and flipping it open.
