She curses to herself. All Alex had wanted was to go to the corner store, get a few things before the rain got worse. Instead...well...
She’d hope to creep past the dead, to try and gain some of her slipping sanity back (and oh how she could tell) when the monster, the guardian obviously, turned to her.
Her eyes flicked to the side, before sighing. If this was the same as any of the timelines the Tome had shown her, she knew one thing for sure. The thing would have to die before she could escape, and Alex doubted she’d be able to survive a frontal attack, not without the gladius.
But she still had her runes.
“Paragon! Paragon! Santak! Bankorok! Mantorok!” she yelled first, flinging the runes in front of her. A purple shield was erected, but she knew it would only keep her safe for a few hits.
The runes returned, and she tossed them again.
“Paragon! Paragon! Paragon! Magormor! Paragon! Antorbok!”
The pipe she’d been using began to glow was well, yellow this time.
