Chapter 2: The Next Day

Sleep was surprisingly uneventful for the newest member of the Bradley/Flynn household. This however was all from Komet's point of view, and Eve got a completely different perspective.

Komet was out for a few hours while Eve read the book out-loud. He eventually shifted and pulled the blankets closer around him. A little bit later, Komet must've gotten too hot, as he sat up, pulled off the sleep shirt he'd put on and threw it on the floor.

Komet looked in Eve's direction, "Hm"d, and then flopped down to fall back asleep. Throughout the night, he'd twitch and mumble a few words here and there. Even snore a bit before turning over into a better position.

Somewhere closer to 6-7am, Komet grumbled awake and got out of bed. With bleary eyes, he shuffled his way to the bathroom. Eve would then hear the fact that the toilet seat was NOT put back down, but Komet did wash his hands before shuffling back in and into bed. Readers can now put that question to rest.

Come morning, he slowly woke up, but then froze at the unfamiliar surroundings. A moment later, and all the details fell into place.

The battle in Tron City. The User and the Admin. The light of the Portal and Rinzler telling him to go to it. The explosion that threw him against the wall of the Sailor. Eve and Sam. Strangers that didn't belong. No chain of command, only the last order to follow. The User leading him into the light.

He groaned as he realized that wasn't all a dream. He was here in the User world. A fish out of water. If all of that wasn't a dream and was in fact real, then...

Komet focused, shifting through his mind to see if he'd had a dream now that he was in the User world. Nope, nothing. Just and odd sense of loss.

Blue/red eyes looked out from under his covers and around the room...

The Beginning of the End

Time wasn't quite right here. Sam knew that. His hair was getting longer, and his facial hair was getting scruffy and unkempt. That meant something; but he didn't quite know what.

At least he was in a bigger room. Bigger mat. Softer too. He could stand up and walk around. The small room only let him stand up and lay down.

The small room was bad. There was pain in the small room. Cuts and scrapes. Bruises and aches that filled his whole body. Sam shuddered. They would turn off the lights for so long that he could almost see things in the dark. Shapes and colors that he didn't recognize. Then the lights came back on and there was relief.

But they didn't turn off. On and on and on on on. It burned. He tried to hide from it, but the light was always there. There were tears during that time. Tears and tears and tears. Till there were none left.

Where was he? Oh, the big room. Things were better here. No more screaming. No more pain. Clu would visit. Oh, those were the best times. Clu was warm and bright like the sun...sun...son. He was son once, but that didn't make sense. He was Clu's. Just like Rinzler. Just like the Grid.

Sam looked at his hands. He didn't have red lines before. But he did now. The User (user?) physicaly cringed. When Clu gave him the lines, it had hurt so much. Rinzler had red lines and a helmet. Sam had to wear a helmet now. He liked the helmet. It was dark and quiet.

He could walk now too and not be dragged everywhere. When Clu came, he would put Sam's disc on his back and he would feel better. Or worse. Or both. Rinzler would visit too. He'd sit there and look at him. Sam liked his rumble.

Sam remembered he was afraid of Rinzler once. Afraid of Clu too. But that wasn't right. Clu was his Master. Master of Rinzler too. Said they would do great things together. Sam really wanted that. He wanted to make Clu happy. Make Clu proud. Make dad...dad?

Sam shook his head and tried to grab at the thought, but it always slipped away like smoke. He sighed out of boredom. He wanted to see the Games. To sit by Clu and watch Rinzler.

There were footsteps and he stood up, hoping they were coming for him. Maybe it was Clu or Rinzler. Not the guards. The guards were mean. They called him User, but that was wrong. He was Sam.

The footsteps were getting louder, and Sam watched the door with anticipation.

Everything had happened too fast for Komet to really process. What he did know was that a User found his way into his master's system. Clu jumped at the chance to finally get to the User world, but just like every other version of this story, it didn't pan out.

The Admin of the Grid was dead, Rinzler (who was really Tron) sunk down to the bottom of the Sea, and a missing Sam Flynn was brought back home by a one Ed Dillinger.

The shock of the real world knocked Komet off balance, and he stumbled into a wall. "Where...what?"

//Inspired by @not-that-dillinger, for the thread with @evecolourshock from THIS starter, THIS reply, and the start of the thread. I don't want to spoil anything of course, so these are just general head-canons.

UserProgram_Komet

Komet speaks with a flat tone, blunt and straight-forward. No room for anything that could raise the ire of either Clu or Dyson.

If he's not talking, he's silent. Unless he's talked too, or asked a question, he doesn't speak. Komet tries to be invisible and unnoticed.

When he's out of his room, which is really a cell, he's forced to wear his helmet. This does a few things. It protects his identity and acts as blinders. Dimming bright lights and muting loud sounds.

Komet's BEST FRIEND is Rinzler. He has the vague recollection of being afraid of Rinzler, but that can't be right because he's Komet's best mate.

Rinzler taught Komet everything he knows. How to fight, drive different vehicles (ground and air), use wing chutes, etc. He also taught Komet how to act. How to be invisible in a crowded room, but know exactly what's going on. He has a strong attachment to Komet. He'd protect him from the Guards and even Dyson and Clu on a few occasions.

Komet LOVES lightcycles. Or any sort of vehicle he can mess around with. Clu found it advantageous to keep Sam's memories for those sorts of things intact.

That boy loves a puzzle. Give him a Rubix cube and it will absorb all his attention. He'll either solve it, or get bored/frustrated and cheat to get the answer.

Komet's curly hair is more obvious in the User world. It's not a full curl, but it's still there and cute.

He get tired easily outside of the Grid. Marvin's become his nap buddy. If Komet isn't in the garage tinkering with things, or watching TV, he's usually snoozing somewhere.

They'll be more, I just can't think of anything else right now.
