nnoitra failing at a videogame and silas internally going; i told you you should’ve let me read you the walk-through........ / @vagabondofbabel .
".. Remember th-the time we got s-stuck in a s-storm?" A thoughtful gaze watched the downpour outside, thick droplets the sound of pebbles rattling the window. With lips pressed into a firm line, as though hiding a smile, the perfumer looked away to glance towards his companion. He managed to sound unamused even if his typically stern expression read otherwise. It had been the first time he saw Nnoitra without his eye patch and he had learned a lot about the other. ".. It rained f-for days."
The sound of heavy raindrops drenching the outside was somewhat calming to Nnoitra. Possibly because he was dry, and inside. Or, perhaps the tranquility of his mood had nothing to do with the weather. It was, most likely, his companion who should take credit for it. It had been far too long since they had seen each other. Nnoitra had missed Silas. He had missed feeling PEACEFUL. Nothing and nobody else gave him that inner calm that Silas provided him with. It was, hands down, the best feeling in the world.
Considering how long it had been since they saw each other, Nnoitra had thought he would’ve ‘ gotten over ‘ the feeling, but no. Here, standing a few feet behind Silas, it was stronger than ever. While he definitely would’ve liked to put his hands on the tailor, he kept this safe distance. They hadn’t seen each other in far too long, so it was best to keep things like this. At least for now. Who knew - maybe it would just keep on raining, so that they could keep standing here together. Nnoitra hoped so.
A soft stutter mixed with the rain. Silas was musing. Nnoitra gave a small nod, even if Silas didn’t catch it, seeing as he had his back turned to him. Nnoitra wasn’t looking at the rain. His gaze was locked on the tailor ( even if he knew he didn’t like being stared at ). No matter how much time would pass, Nnoitra didn’t think he would ever forget the feeling of those white locks against his hands. Befitting to the feelings Silas awakened in Nnoitra, the tailor looked peaceful. His lean frame and pale skin and angelic hair, it was all so soft. To Nnoitra, Silas was the moon. In comparison, Nnoitra was all sharp edges. And blood.
Whether or not Silas remembered that time they got stuck together in a storm fondly or not, Nnoitra couldn’t tell. He had never been good at reading people’s feelings. He could just say that he treasured every moment spent with Silas. And though his favourite memory was that one time they had made flowercrowns in the moonlight, he would never forget any days or nights they had been together. In the midst of being a MONSTER, Nnoitra had had moments of calmness. A pause in the storm. How could he ever forget something like that?
Their eyes met now, and Nnoitra thought that Silas’ eyes were his favourite thing about him. There might be a ghost of a smile on the other’s face, or maybe Nnoitra was just seeing things. Mostly, he was just seeing how Silas even looked special. Not only did being with him feel unique, but he even had an appearance to match that. Who else had eyes like that? Nobody, that’s who.
Involuntary, Nnoitra took a step closer to the tailor. He knew he could appear threatening, and though he didn’t think Silas was afraid of him, he still broke eye contact for a moment, to reassure the other. He probably could’ve allowed himself a brief touch. Brushing his fingers against his shoulder would’ve been acceptable. But, even now that they were standing a bit closer, Silas was something precious to Nnoitra. Something pure and holy. He was content just standing next to him like this. When he looked back and met his gaze again, a smile stretched on Nnoitra’s lips. How could he look at him without smiling?
It had rained for days. Nnoitra remembered it all. Silas must’ve been pretty frustrated, right? Having to spend so much intimate time with Nnoitra? They had even slept in the same bed. Nnoitra figured that wasn’t something anyone would appreciate. That being said, it didn’t sound like Silas was complaining. Was that because they knew each other pretty well? Nnoitra had several questions, but he wasn’t worried about the answers. Regardless, it wouldn’t change how he was feeling. He had found that the one thing he actually could rely on, it was how Silas affected him. As long as they were in each other’s company, Nnoitra would feel at ease. That’s why he didn’t have a problem with admitting -
❝ I wish it had rained ‘fer weeks. ❞
