Advice on if you've been prescribed medication that needs to be inserted vaginally, and you are unused to that kind of thing due to being asexual, having vaginismus, being unaccustomed to tampons, or not into penetration:
Put lube on the applicator
Lie down on your back for insertion, lift your knees, and breathe deeply
Aim slightly downwards. You might feel pressure and be tempted to stop, but I assure you that you're probably not deep enough and depositing the ointment/pill at that point won't help much. You can tell you're not in deep enough if you can feel the medication should you deposit it at this stage
You may in fact feel two separate pressure points where you think 'okay SURELY this must be where I should stop". It's probably not.
It can help to pull the applicator out a bit and then try again
KEEP BREATHING DEEPLY
You will reach a point where very very suddenly everything goes smoothly in right up to the plunger. You will experience such triumphant euphoria that you may whisper to yourself "I'm in" as if you're a computer hacker in a 90s/00s movie. You are correct to congratulate yourself and when you release the payload you won't feel a goddamn thing except relief
This post brought to you by the fact that I wasted eleven days' worth of estrogen cream by not realizing just how deeply the applicator needed to be inserted because I simply do not conduct business in that area and am unfamiliar with its inner geography
