Also I really dislike seeing people mocking feminist artists for vagina art or drawing attention to menstrual cycles because hello???? They're doing it because!!! Everyone (read: misogynists of every gender) tries to make it taboo and in doing so stifles any accurate transfer of information about the female body??? Because women literally exist who don't know half the things they should know about their vaginas??? Because many traditional and even modern cultures consider female reproductive systems or activity or genitals to be "unclean" and "unimportant" or even "not real"??? Because there are people with vaginas who have so much internalized hatred of their own vaginas even though vaginas are inherently neutral and not as awful as everyone likes to think???
Because even in so-called advanced societies (and often more likely in these societies) being born with a vagina is still equivalent to being oppressed, sexualized, devalued, or underestimated.
Because little girls should know about the bodies they own, without shame or fear or remorse, and especially without hatred.
That being said.... I can't speak for all of those kinds of artists or activists or whatever, or any of them actually.... but usually? They have a point
