The time for Vaivaswat Manu is arrived at  4200 on genealogical considerations and 3300 BCE on archaeological considerations.  We accept the time of 3300 BCE on archaeological considerations which is more  credible given the uncertainties in the genealogical calculations.

The Hindu tradition says that we are  presently in the Kali Yuga of the 28th Chaturyuga of the seventh Vaivaswat  Manvantara of the second Varaha Kalpa. On this basis the beginning of human  civilization started at 6.2 billion years ago which is improbable.
