((Quick thing I want to write a proper thing about later (and show how it ties into new lore), but also just want to hurry and put out there for anyone who wants to (or wants to avoid) using it in rp:))
Val is capable of producing a hallucinogenic gas, which comes out of his out. When concentrated it looks blue-purple, but often times he'll pretend he's smoking to cover up that he's doing something humans shouldn't be able to do-he keeps a pack of cigarettes with him, but never actually lights them, only puts them in his mouth. 'Mind if I smoke?' is not an uncommon line to hear from him.
This gas is incredibly powerful, basically giving him complete control of his victim's senses to manipulate. So he can fake scenes, bring worst nightmares to life (if he knows them), simply get them really hungry or feeling sick...but it only works as long as they're actively breathing in the gas. Even just a tiny bit. If wind blows it in the wrong direction, that's the end of it, so he prefers to use it in indoor situations.
The tie to the new lore is that it's part of his becoming a Treasure of Ruin. He hasn't really taken on an item/Pokémon form yet, so he doesn't have a full spectrum of attacks (just a few powers here and there)...and because his negative energy isn't yet associated with an item, he doesn't have the '[Item] of Ruin' ability, so that power is manifesting in a different form.
If he does ever develop [Item] of Ruin, it will drop evasiveness.
