Valdie- Bloody Mary's (Hold The Tomatoes)
It had only been a mere day since she had returned to Mystic Falls and it seemed like it had been one of the worst days for her return. Seven homicides in one night, all being outed in one day? Was that even possible? Well of course it was, especially when the place was Mystic Falls, the epicenter for paranormal activity. And by paranormal activity, she didn't mean those crappy movies that they came out with where chairs float and little girls stand in doorways, she meant vampires, witches and werewolves. Although she had pledged her allegiance to Klaus, that didn't mean that she lacked friends who remained neutral and who were even against Klaus. Normally, she would have done what she could to convince those who were against him to remain neutral and to convince those that were neutral that it was time for them to join her so that they too could flourish in the power that she felt when following him. But to say the least, she had not been able to sway anyone from their stance and at this point it was the least of her worries. Recruiting others could happen at a later date, as of now, she still had no idea what it was that Klaus was planning and even if he was planning on letting her in on what he was doing. There were times when he did keep her in the dark, claiming that it was for her own good and safety even though she well knew that he was merely doing it for his own gain and that at any point in time he could simply throw her under the bus, more literally than figuratively. It was hard trying to prove herself to someone that lacked any and all interest in you except for what she was capable of, and after being along side him for about forty years, it was hard not to have picked up a trick or two along the way.
Valerie lacked a place to stay, and had merely selected one of the first houses along the main road into Mystic Falls, where she compelled the elderly man who lived there with his wife to invite her in. To them, she was their niece who was visiting from out of town and could stay with them for how ever long she wanted. Perfect. And it was, because they were under strict orders not to invite anyone else into the house with out her consent. She often thought of it as her safe haven should things go wrong with Klaus, though she knew that what ever compulsion she had used on them, he could easily override, there was still some piece of mind with what she was doing. One of the better things about having come back into Mystic was that there was Andie, and although she was neutral in this war and Klaus had no idea of her existence, something that Val often envied. Maybe had he not been so charming when he had approached her, maybe had he not understood her stand point so well.. Maybe had he just not been Klaus she wouldn't have fallen prey to his game and be in the position she was in. But when he had taken her in, not only had she been attracted to his good looks but his power. He emulated it. It radiated off of him regardless of where he was and if she ever met anyone more powerful so help them God, there would be nothing that would stop her from thriving off of it such as she did now off of Klaus'. She was like a moth at night, attracted to light when it came to power. When Val had been turned, something inside of her had snapped so that now, not only did she only crave power, she had to be surrounded by it. Most days, she saw herself as a broken Vampire, something that was out of the ordinary, often wondering if others felt the same way that she did or if she was an anomaly. Regardless, she envied Andie for her so called freedom and sometimes, just as she lived vicariously off of the power that Klaus wielded, she did the same when it came to the freedom that Andie had.
Stuffing a few blood bags into an over the shoulder bag, Val bid the elderly couple a good night as she passed through the living room and towards the door, wishing them an undisturbed rest, though it was more than a wish. Smiling to herself, she closed the door behind her and pocketed the spare key that the man had been so gracious to give her seeing as he claimed that since they went to bed early, she should be able to let herself in and out of the house with out disturbing them. Even though she had used compullsion on them, they were a lot kinder to her than they needed to be. Maybe on some level they understood her pain and wanted to help her? To those who didn't know her, she seemed like a strong headed woman with aspirations and goals. But if you took a close look at her, it was easy to see that she was broken inside, that something had happened to her to make her as disturbed as she was and it wasn't merely dying. If she could actually remember what it was, then maybe she wouldn't be in the mess that she was in currently. Tugging the bag tightly across her shoulders she was careful tonight. A warning had already been issued to her earlier that night by someone who she had little to no respect for at all and therefore, she would ignore it and do as she pleased anyways. Respect was a huge thing for her, it was hard to gain and oh so easy to loose, especially when times were as trying as they currently were. That was why drinks with Andie seemed like one of the smartest ideas that she had thought of in a while. Bloody Mary's with out the tomatoes of course. It was a drink that she would never really get tired of. Blood, watered down with Vodka and a celery stick. So it was human of them, it still gave them a fix for blood and it satiated some of the hunger cravings that they would get later on with the alcohol. Her pace quickened as she roamed the main street of Mystic, doing her best to remember how it was that she exactly got to Andie's place. It had been quite some time after all, though her memory was sharp it was distracted and cluttered with numerous things that she would be glad to unload into some willing ears.
Though there were more pressing matters at hand, the one thing that continuously bothered her was Ryan and the fact that he had kept bringing up her weight. Although she knew that she was stuck at the weight that she was at for as long as she lived, that didn't mean that it wasn't harsh on her at all. She had grown up in the 20's. Well, she had lived and died in them, and was now forever stuck in the body of an 18 year old who was at the beginning of an eating disorder. At some angels you could see her ribs and although it often disgusted her, it reminded her of her humanity, something that she had thought she had lost long ago, something that she had tried to shake long ago. But here it was, haunting here even now to this day... Lost in thought, she glanced up and let out a soft sigh and loosened her grip on the strap of her bag. She was there and there wasn't a hunter in sight, now she wasn't in the mood to fight and if provoked she would probably just kill them and walk off thinking nothing of it. It was horrible that she felt no remorse towards those that she killed, but she never took the time to learn their names for a reason. Once things were given names, you grew some sort of an attachment to them, something like a bond and that meant that you had to feel something. Feelings weren't things that she dealt with well, not anymore. Stepping up to the door she rung the bell twice, out of habit seeing as old ones tended to die hard and she waited patiently, her hand diving into the bag to wrap around one of the blood bags, her body already aching for it's fix. As the door opened slowly, she released the bag and embraced her friend. "I'm so horrible. I know, think you can forgive me for having a temper?" She smiled a genuine smile, something that only happened once in a blue moon and stepped inside, letting the door swing shut behind her.
