Christian Games or Activities for Adult Valentine Banquet
Valentine activities, Valentine banquet, Valentine games
Valentine’s Day banquets are always memorable occasions because they usually include funny antics, games and activities for couples to enjoy. If you’re planning one for the Christian adult crowd, the ideas here will supply the guests with hours of fun and plenty of food for thought. The Fruits of Love
Galatians 5:22 lists the fruits of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness. All of these qualities are associated with love and can be used in your own special version of the Newlywed or Dating Game. In this game, though, all the couples get to participate. Have the men write down on index cards which of these “fruits” they exhibit the most. (Be sure to have the entire verse written in plain view for some who may not be familiar with this passage.) Then have the women write down which one they think their husbands or boyfriends display the most. This game is a lot of fun, as couples learn that perception is indeed reality. “Share Where” Game
The “Share Where” game should only be played with five or six couples because of time restrictions. Start by sending the women out of the room. Then ask the men three questions about their wives or girlfriends that include where they met, where he proposed and where they went on their first date. They should write their answers down on large pieces of paper or poster board. Next, send the men out and ask the ladies three similar questions. It is always interesting to see how the ladies fare in comparison to the gentlemen, and the game is sure to cause a couple of “disagreements” that will provide plenty of laughs for the crowd.
Words of Wisdom
Words of Wisdom isn’t so much a game as it is a time of sharing. This is a good way to get singles involved in the activities. Go around the room and ask each person to share their personal wisdom on what God’s love means to them–how they feel He has conveyed it to them in practical and supernatural ways. They can then follow up with how they share God’s love with others. The guests can even vote for their favorite answer of the evening.
