Maybe they're just really hopeful that she turns good and sees the error of her ways? But yeah, current Jasper is hands down scary and addicted to power.
Yeah I think this is what’s really bothering me about it. People seem eager for Jasper to get a redemption arc and I get it you like the Big Orange One and you want her to be Not Evil Anymore but like... the writers are doing something awesome and important here by actually depicting a character’s recovery from an abusive relationship and it would be irresponsible of them at this point to rush a Jasper redemption. You can’t just toss Lapis’ abuser back into her life and make her say “hey it’s all good all’s well that ends well let’s be friends”. That would be a hundred different flavors of Not Okay. The Malachite aftermath arc needs to be handled carefully and the writers know that, and part of that is acknowledging that Jasper is dangerous and wrong and unequivocally the villain here and it bugs me that so many people want to gloss over that because She’s Hot and Cool.
