Body doubles are used for a variety of reasons, not just for sex scenes. They can be used for any scenes where the actor's face doesn't have to be shown and/or they aren't saying lines. For example, shooting from behind, on horseback, far away shot, sometimes as a stand in to mark lighting and staging, etc. This saves the production time and money.
As for this season, Cait is still post partum. She may not feel comfortable showing her body and/or may still be breastfeeding.
As for whether she and Tony decided she shouldn't do sex scenes anymore. 😁🤭 Anon, Cait is an ACTRESS, her marital status does not affect what she does at work. Tony knows this. He's been with her since 2014. She's been TV fake f*cking Sam for years, why would that change now? And think of the thousands of actors who are married with kids and do sex scenes with other actors. It's par for the course.
If the body double is going to be used specifically for sex scenes this season, I would imagine it's because, like I said, Cait's body is post partum and Claire is not. It has nothing to do with anything else. That's just Extreme Shipper and Cait haters trying to sell a false narrative. Don't buy into it.
