For the Twelve Prompts of Christmas: Redlich & Rueger, snow and "someday we won't remember this". Thank you!
Thank you for indulging my OCs 💙 Hope you had a lovely Christmas and happy holidays!
The tulips are dying in Holland, Michigan. The season's first cold front is due tonight, and with it, Redlich expects snow. He wonders what the picturesque little town will look like covered in a soft blanket of white. Dotting the landscape of the park in a serene pallor befitting a postcard. When he pictures himself here, sitting amongst the tulips in the winter chill, the bench seat next to him is empty. Rueger stands a few feet away, numb fingers sparking at a flywheel as he balances a cigarette between his lips. His nose is a pretty shade of pink, his lips nearly blue. "I want a Christmas kiss," he told Redlich earlier. Then, like now, Redlich had denied him. Even in the safety of their hotel room, Redlich fears wandering eyes. He's come to resent the sight of mistletoe.
