Commotion from the rampaging Valkrite has drawn the attention of the other lone one I saw the other day. Its larger presence quieted the first one and it started nudging my broken tech; almost like it was trying to put it back together. The larger one- also with a deeper hue- seemed slightly distressed.
Im not really surprised. Valkrites tend to be very social with its own kind (from what I have seen) I'm not sure what it did to be exiled from its group, but I think I know a way to help it...
im very happy with the rescue forms so far. I'll keep them open for another day and then I will be able to bring the Valkrite over to whoever successfully adopts them :)
Only a few days in the city and I have already stumbled across two lone Valkrites.
Valkrites are typically social beasts, where you see one stomping through the streets you will always find a few more nearby.
I have noted that Valkrites also appear to have a strong religious structure, following unspoken rules and interacting with different Valkrites with various levels of respect.
These two Valkrites were seen trudging the outskirts of the city - seperately. They don't seem to have any connection other than both being possibly exiled from their respective groups.
I'm studying them now, perhaps I will be able to bring them to my Observatory and find out what exactly caused them to ignore their instincts.
Adoption application for Valkrite
This application is being submitted by Philomena (an OC), a seasoned naturalist with a great deal of time on her hands to devote to caring and studying this beautiful being now that she is retired. (Apologies for the lack of a sketch of her, I am still working on her design)
Due to the Valkrite's size and the vast amount of remaining information to yet be learned about them, she would house the creature on an island that she and several other rescued creatures occupy. This environment would allow them plenty of physical exercise space and the possibility to grow socially, should they want to do so.
If this particular creature is indeed struggling with isolation, then there will be many potential friends for them to make upon the island. If they prefer, however, to only interact with Philomena or more slowly acclimate to their new environment and fellow inhabitants, there is plenty of space for them to take their time and make introductions at their own pace.
Philomena is a lover of all creatures no matter the size, needs or temperament and as such she has ensured that certain parts of the island are maintained and divided appropriately. There are a couple creatures that prefer total isolation and as such are afforded their own space (with the appropriate climate and biodiversity native to their homelands). Other creatures are incredibly social and love to bond even with other species of creature.
If this Valkrite would allow it, she would devote great care and time to aiding them with selecting possible new friends. She knows which creatures would be more conducive to proper polite introductions so as to not offend this Valkrite or possibly spook them with too much energy initially. In her many decades of experience, slow, quiet and gentle first meetings are generally a good way to go in terms of bonding creatures, especially across different species. There are plenty of potential creatures who love to play and bond easily.
If the Valkrite would, however, prefer solely her company, she has plenty of time and patience to provide that. She finds all the creatures on her island fascinating and is just as happy to learn from a distance as she is to being closer and more hands on so to speak. She can talk for hours if they appreciate (or tolerate more likely haha) the sound of her voice but she also is glad to remain silent if the Valkrite prefers quiet company. (She is particularly curious about the Valkrite's particular Fortispirae)
There are mountains upon the island with a great variety of rocks and biodiversity that Philomena believes may be appealing to the Valkrite if they prefer to stay within the confines of familiar territory (if this one happens to be a Mountain Valkrite, that is, if not there are plenty of other places for them to inhabit). There are also forests, valleys, and beaches to explore as well if they find themselves wanting to explore new environments.
In regards to their diet, the island and Philomena herself are both prepared for any sort of needs the Valkrite may have. As mentioned before, the island is lush with a variety of greenery so if this creature is a herbivore, there should be no issue in finding enough nutrients even for a creature of this size. If the Valkrite is instead a carnivore or omnivore, plenty of meat can be found off the shores of the island that Philomena catches daily to supply her more carnivorous inhabitants.
Fresh water is abundant on the island as well. There is no time of the year where any fresh watering holes completely dry up so there is no need for the inhabiting creatures to panic and resort to violence to compete for vital resources.
Philomena herself is extremely devoted to interacting with the creatures under her care. They are part of her home and therefore part of her family. Being somewhat of a recluse herself, the island inhabitants aid her as well by keeping her physically and socially active. Some might argue against the idea that she is engaging socially on the same level as with other "more sentient" beings but Philomena would promptly dismiss any such claim. These creatures do not just exist alongside her, she has formed symbiotic relationships with many of them over the years of her rescue efforts. She only takes in injured, lonely or otherwise incapacitated creatures that would not survive in their own homelands and she only takes on creatures that come willingly to her island. She is not in the business of forcing anyone, creature, human or otherwise, to stay or leave (unless of course they pose a serious threat to all others inhabiting the island).
More than anything, Philomena wishes to provide a safe nurturing place for all creatures that seek it and if they permit it, to learn as much as she possibly can about each of them. If this Valkrite would have her, she would spend a great deal of her time learning from them, helping them adjust to their new home and providing the companionship they may seek in her or the other island rescue creatures.
Im happy to announce that Philomena's sanctuary has been deemed an excellent new home to the Valkrite.
I also have an interesting development:
Valkrites actually have given names among other Valkrites. This was deeply surprising and I can wait to learn what the system is, but this one in particular is called "Hyte'dam". I have yet to acquire the ability to distinguish male from female, but I will let everybody knows once I have gotten that information. Until then, I'd be happy to study the Valkrite if you are ever worried or curious about something.
Take care
*wildlife shelter looks smaller than it is cause of distance
There are additional details about the new clubhouse, but this is the need-to-know
There’s also gonna be other animals (my other adopts), around so he won’t get lonely at all. This’ll be the spot for them.
I will be coming with the extra info soon, and be using it even if I get the big guy or not, cause i have enough children they deserve their own area.
This looked like a really interesting area to home a Valkrite! Make sure you keep a slot open in case I find another one in need! ^^
