Valkyrie is your standard female sole survivor, with the exceptions being that she's A) not a lawyer and B) her husband, Nathan, died in the army before the events if vault 111. She carried shaun down to the vault in her arms and he was forcibly taken from her by Kellogg, who used his threatening demeanour and weapon to control her, forcing her to hand over the child 'for his own safety' and was then refrozen in the pod until nearly sixty years later.
She's also pretty terrible at shooting until the companions train her. It's a miracle she made it to Diamond City. She travels with dogmeat by her side as a form of protection and companionship.
She mostly sides with the Minutemen and believes in their cause but she aids and uses the brotherhood to take down the institute and hopes for an alliance between the two factions. She's very kind, compassionate and caring.
Shaun was only a few months old when he was taken from her and for the first two and a half weeks of her time in the commonwealth she is still producing breast milk and without a child to feed this is very uncomfortable for her, and embarrassing around male companions when she has to express to relieve discomfort.
