Events

There are plenty of events in Vallejo and they’re for every season. During spring, the Vallejo Garden Tour and Festival takes place. It features the most beautiful gardens in Vallejo. It’s also for the benefit of the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum. Also on the same season, the Great Vallejo Race commences. It’s one of the largest boat races in the country. There are about 200 boats competing yearly. During summer, the Juneteenth Celebration happens. It’s to mark the African Americans’ freedom from slavery. The Solano County African Family Celebration Committee is behind the event. The Toyota/Save Mart 350 also takes place for those who love to see car races. The Vallejo Waterfront Weekend takes place during fall. It’s a two day celebration that is packed with multiple activities that all people can enjoy.

Fire set by mom killed her and daughters

VALLEJO, Calif. -- Investigators revealed Thursday that they believe the deadly fire that killed a 47-year-old Vallejo woman and her twin 14-year-old daughters was caused by the mother setting herself on fire. The blaze started early Sunday morning on Georgia Street in Vallejo and was immediately considered suspicious. Police say physical & electronic evidence as well as witness & victim statements led then to their conclusion. Mau Dao's death is being classified by police as a suicide that led to two homicides. A tragic event happened on Thursday. Investigators have released a report that say the fire that happened in Vallejo, killing a woman and her 14 year old twin daughters, was caused by the woman setting herself on fire. It happened on Sunday morning and it was already considered as suspicious. Upon further investigation, it has been found out that the physical and electronic evidence coupled with the statements of the witness and the victim led the police to believe that the mother caused it all. The police have also said that it was a suicide that led to two homicides. The mother had another daughter who is 11 years old. She was hurt but she thankfully escaped the fire. She is currently with her father right now and she’s expected to make a full recovery.

The Joker in Vallejo, CA

The Joker is the second DC themed ride in Six Flags. Like Batman’s nemesis, the Joker is full of unexpected twists and turns and flips. It spans more than 3,000 feet of Joker’s colors, purple and green, and it has 3 inversions. There’s a barrel roll to be expected, humps, a 180 degree stall and a 78 degree stop. It’s 100 feet high and it can reach speeds of more than 50 mph. The ride lasts for nearly 2 minutes but it’s more than enough to take your breath away. There are 15 airtime moments wherein you’re left wondering what’s happening. The breaking wave turn feature in the ride is the only kind in the entire West Coast. It’s something that’s definitely unique and somehow depicts just how the Joker’s mind works.

I have been going to Rose for almost a year now & she never has disappointed me . Yes I understand there a few in here I specifically wouldn't want my nails done by , at least not any special designs or anything like that but what shop doesn't have those few employees..

Rose never disappoints when it comes to fills , full sets , pedicures or eyebrows .

She recently which I have noticed has started to slowly but surely renovate her shop , she's got new paint flooring and furniture which just as a person not even a customer, I am proud to see her try and grow and make improvements..

She has also recently brought on some new nail techs , one which includes her younger brother who did my nails shown below & another younger a bit heavyset woman who I have allowed to do my fills twice and haven't had any disappointments with. ( ignore the heavyset comment just so you can know when you see her , because I myself am a bit chunky )

I love K & J nails , anytime I think of going somewhere else im displeased by wait times or unnecessary attitude. Yes these girls have their days but I'm always welcomed to a smile , also Rose learns her customers names which is EXTREMELY welcoming, and they are all super friendly. Very proud of you Rose & thank you for always keeping me  cosmetically maintained !

Now beware that the stars are for Rose and her work on eyebrows....she does a great job on eyebrows when she isn't rushing . I've came to her from greeting my eyebrows threaded to waxing and look so much better and I'm getting my original arch back . Rose is great at nails as well I just wouldn't let anyone else do my nails if I was you . There's another young lady who does nails and feet as good as rose . Just try to come on a day they aren't busy so you can get full service . Granted if you've never been her before it is a little hectic lol but overall great .
