Holy busy day. Today I had to be in Chicago for a meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then back in Milwaukee by 3:30 p.m. for an event. Not the best planning on my part, but I dug-in and gave it a great big try. I figured it was better to try my best to cover everything I needed to get done than to not try at all. Well, today I am thankful for being reminded a very valuable lesson – by over booking/committing myself I ended up just disappointing everyone and frustrating myself rather than being the hero. What I was trying to accomplish yesterday was insane and I need to better manage expectations and learn to say no! I had a lot of time to think about this too… as I sat in 3 hours of traffic on the way down and 4 hours on the way back. I’m calling that a nice reality check.
