2 State Prison Escappes Held for Grand Jury

Two State Prison escapees, brought into Charlestown Disctict Court yesterday under heavy guard, were held for the Grand Jury bu Judge John F. Gilmore. The pair, John P. Kerrigan, 33, of Jamaica Plain, and George E. Hayes, 32, of Waltham, made their escape on Monday by sealing themselves in big cartons. They were discovered when they cut themselves out of the cartons and were captured within a few minutes.

CENTRAL KITSAP — Believing his roommate just admitted to being a vampire, a 40-year-old Bremerton man attacked him with a metal rod, poking him in the upper left side of his chest.

The suspect was charged Monday in Kitsap County Superior Court with third-degree assault, a felony.

Kitsap County sheriff's deputies were called Sunday at about 7 p.m. to the 6400 block of Grand Pine Loop after the roommate ran to a neighbor's house to use the phone. The roommate said the suspect accused him of being a vampire, threatened to kill him and struck him in the chest with the metal rod, according to court documents.

The roommate said he feared for his life because the suspect has severe mental health issues and is much bigger. A deputy wrote in court documents that the roommate had “visible swelling” on the upper left side of his chest.

Using a public announcement system to no avail, deputies made “numerous” announcements ordering the suspect exit the residence. Deputies eventually forced their way into the suspect’s room and took him into custody, along with the rod.

The suspect told deputies he had confronted the roommate about being a vampire, and when the roommate admitted to it, the suspect said he was going to stab him in the heart with a wooden stake. However, the suspect claimed the roommate charged him. The suspect denied assaulting the roommate but said he pushed the roommate away while holding the rod, and the rod may have touched him.

The suspect’s brother told deputies he witnessed the confrontation and when asked if he was a vampire, the roommate jokingly said, “Is that what the kids are calling me these days?”

The suspect did not find it funny, the brother said, and took the joke as an admission. When the roommate refused to leave, the suspect said something to the effect of, “I’m going to kill you, vampire!” a deputy wrote in charging documents.

“He then took the metal rod and poked (the roommate) with it in the chest,” a deputy wrote.

A third woman took the stand Tuesday in Saline County in Sydney Loofe’s murder trial. She also says she was a part of a “witch cult” where group members were promised powers that come after the first time they kill someone. The third woman gave details leading up to when Sydney Loofe disappeared. This woman said she too met Boswell on Tinder. The woman said they discussed relationship goals. Boswell said she wanted a dominant-submissive relationship, according to the woman.

MAN ACCUSED OF STABBING WIFE TO DEATH THOUGHT SHE WAS A VAMPIRE

A 42-year-old man from Bodegraven suspected of stabbing his 35-year-old wife to death told the court on Monday that he thought she had become "a vampire with three colors in her eyes" and that "the devil was there" when he killed her. The Public Prosecutor demanded mandatory institutionalized psychiatric treatment against the Ljubisa O., the Telegraaf reports.

The victim. Jasmina O., was found stabbed to death next to a couch in the living room of the couple's Bodegraven home in April. She had 71 stab wounds, some of them so deep that her ribs and nose were broken. A large knife lay on her body. Her body was also strewn with cigarettes and sunflower seeds. "They were thrown at her. I don't know. Because the devil was there", O. said on Monday. He told the court that he heard voices and that the pshychiatrist was trying to kill him.

Ljubisa O. was known to have psychological problems. The family received assistance from aid agencies, and the couple's children were previously removed from their custody, according to the newspaper.

Behavioral experts concluded that O. was completely under the influence of his psychological disorder when his wife was killed, and he is therefore unaccountable. The Public Prosecutor accepts this conclusion, and therefore asked that the legal proceedings against O. be dismissed, but that he be sentenced to mandatory psychiatric treatment in an institution.

The court will rule on June 17th.
