vampire!tamsy x reader drabble
vampire!tamsy is a vain man. he only sucks blood of humans that passed his standard when it comes to appearance. he doesn't want a spoiled drink, after all.
you, on the other hand, are a model that likes to disguise herself by looking as stupid as possible. one day, tamsy saw your ads and was captivated by your innocent, unsullied visuals. he then started to hunt you in hopes to drink your blood.
he spots you in one of your fashion shows, but there were too many people. he won't be able to take you without making a big fuss. but alas, he's had a sniff of your scent, so it would be easier for him to find you when you're alone.
tamsy caught your scent one night, and audibly gasped when he saw the goofiest looking person in a jester costume instead of you who looks like an angel in your magazine ads.
no, i must be getting it wrong. this... creature could never be her.
and yet.. he inhales again. once. twice.
the same sweet, maddening scent wraps around his heightened senses like silk, unmistakable and intoxicating. it clings to you, so it had to be you. to the bells on your hat, to the smudged face paint, and to the ridiculous puffed sleeves that make you look like a walking joke.
tamsy frowns.
"how unfortunate," he mutters under his breathe, gaze dragging over you in thinly veiled disappointment. "to possess such divine blood… and waste it like this."
you snort, loudly. and it echoed in the empty street where tamsy found you dilly dallying.
his eye twitches.
no. impossible. the woman from the billboards would never make such an undignified sound. she would laugh softly, like a bird chirping. and then she would tilt her head just right, lips curved, eyes half-lidded--
you wipe your nose with the back of your hand. and tamsy completely goes still.
"… you're joking," he says, flatly.
you threw a glance at him, unimpressed. "what?"
your voice is exactly the same one he heard from your commercial ad on television. the one where you were flaunting your smooth, bare shoulder, even emphasizing your neck that he wants so badly to feast on, showing viewers how effective the pink beauty soap is.
but anyway! that confirms it then. he knows it by know. and it settles to him like a curse.
his angel--his perfect, ethereal, untouchable vision--stands before him in a jester costume, blinking at him with your wide eyes like he's the strange one.
"you," he started carefully, "are supposed to be..." he gestures vaguely. something graceful. elegant. worth the hunt.
you follow his hand, then look down at yourself. the bells on your sleeves jingle when you move.
you shrugged, "that's just for work."
for work. tamsy just stares at you as something inside him cracks.
"you mean to tell me," his voice tightening as he says, "that this," he points at you with evident disdain, "is intentional?"
you grin. that wide, mischievous one. nothing like the soft and curated smile printed across the glossy pages with your face in it.
"yeah. keeps weird people away," your eyes flicked to his fangs, barely hidden, and then back to his face, "…usually."
silence stretches between the two of you.
tamsy straightens his posture, regaining what little dignity he feels he's lost in the past minute.
"how disappointing," he says, dragging his syllable as he gaze on you a second too long. "i expected refinement."
"and i expected you to not look like you walked out of a vampire wattpad fic, but here we are."
there was another silence, until tamsy breaks it by sharply exhaling through his nose. you jingle when you shift your weight, just staring at him.
he hates that the scent is still there. your sweet, perfect scent, completely wasted on someone who looks like they belong in a children's party. and yet, tamsy doesn't leave.
he steps closer. curious in spite of his disenchantment.
"take it off," he says suddenly.
you blink. "excuse me?"
"the costume," he clarifies, impatience creeping into his tone. "i want to see if the vision still exists… or i've been thoroughly deceived."
you tilt your head, studying him like he's the one in the jester cosplay. and then you hum, considering.
"buy me a drink first."
tamsy freezes, "i don't drink."
"shame," your lips curling and you turn, bells chiming as you start to slowly walk away.
and for the first time in a very, veryyy long while… tamsy hesitates. because for once, his prey is not running.
and the worse part is he's not entirely sure he still wants to bite.
