Chad scoots close to Gwendolyn as everyone sits around the fire and eats their Chinese takeout. He leans in, pretty much putting his head on her shoulder as he can whisper to her without anyone else hearing. 

“What’s up with the new guy? He looks like he auditioned for Wham! and failed. Granted, yeah, cute, but still. What’s his name again? Michael?”

Chad had been silent, distant, all day (night for them). Something was bothering him but he wasn't really talking about it. He was barely eating their take-out when finally he couldn't stand being quiet anymore.

"Okay so, like... I got a question. Um, so I been with you for months now. And it's great. I really like being your vampire baby. It's awesome. But uh... So before I met ya I was kinda with.... a different kinda crowd. And my best friend, I kinda just disappeared from her after I met ya. So I was wondering... can we go see her? Maybe give her a place to crash if she don't have one already? She doesn't have to be one of us! I just wanna see her. We were like this pair that kept the other from getting into too much trouble. And I know where she'll be, but um... it's kinda.... not a place that's the most nicest of places..." he glanced away out of embarrassment. He never really said much about who he was before he met Gwen.

The fledgling gave Gwendolyn a nonchalant expression as he literally dangled upside down from the cave, tangled in lights that twinkled in rainbow colors. “Duh, of course I’m putting up lights. Ya can’t have Christmas without lights!”

He looked at the shopping bags she brought in and started to squirm which made him swing and spin in his tangled situation. “Ooohhh whatcha got there?”

He gave her a snarky grin and pouted his lips. “Yeah yeah. Well I almost had it until a loose rock crumbled under my hand and it threw me off and then I fell. And here we are. So are ya gonna help me or just keep me here like this, wrapped up and at your disposal?” He stuck his tongue out at her.

“Okay. Covered flying, hypnotic staring, how to avoid mirrors in the general public, how to turn food into maggots and other insects, Satanic rituals--that one’s my favorite so far.” He laughed. “Anything next?”
