Woe! 'Tis the pox!

A set of skindetails to portray a sim who has smallpox, for all your historical sims!

Smallpox (Variola Major) was an infectious disease that began with a high fever, headaches and back pain and then proceeded to an eruption on the skin that left the face and limbs covered with cratered pockmarks, or pox.

For centuries smallpox was dreaded, killing as many as 30 percent of its victims, most of them children.

Those who survived were permanently immune to a second infection, but they faced a lifetime of disfigurement and in some cases blindness.

I based the skindetails on real images of smallpox, although I tried to make it a bit less gory and horrific, and more suitable for a maxis match look.

Any survivors of the pox can now also bear smallpox scars

This is my first ever skin detail CC so if there are any issues or such feel free to contact me!

That said - the skin detail is available for both frames and all ages.

Toddler & Child versions are under the Freckles section

Teen-Elder versions are under both the Freckles and the Forehead Wrinkle section

The skin detail should work on a range of skin colours

Purple spots, the bloody and parchment pox, hemorrhages of blood at the mouth, nose, fundament, and privities; ravings and deliriums; convulsions, and other fits; violent inflammations and swellings in the eyes and throat; so that they cannot see, or scarcely breathe, or swallow anything, to keep them from starving. Adding that these plates (my last post included) are absolutely stunning for 1908.

Just a bit of clarification on the last cases of smallpox and its eradication. It can be a bit confusing because smallpox can occur in two forms, variola major and variola minor. The first is far deadlier than the second which can be milder than chickenpox. They both evolved from the same virus at different points in history, variola minor being first to appear.
