The nervous system is a multifaceted, highly specialised network. It organises, explains, and drives your interactions with the world around you. The nervous system regulates:
Sight, hearing, taste, odour, and sensation (sensation).
Movement, balance, and coordination are examples of voluntary and involuntary processes. Most other physiological processes, such as blood flow and blood pressure, are likewise regulated by the nervous system.
The capacity to reason and think. The neurological system enables consciousness, as well as ideas, memories, and language.

The nervous system is split into two parts: the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system, or CNS), and nerve cells that govern voluntary and involuntary movements (peripheral nervous system, or PNS).
The symptoms of a nervous system problem are determined by the part of the nervous system implicated and the cause of the problem. Nervous system issues can develop gradually, resulting in a progressive loss of function (degenerative). Alternatively, they may emerge unexpectedly and produce life-threatening issues (acute). Symptoms might range from moderate to severe. The following are some major disorders, diseases, and injuries that can cause nervous system problems:

Depending on the section of the nervous system implicated, a sudden (acute) nervous system dysfunction can induce a variety of symptoms. A frequent example of an acute condition is a stroke or a transient ischemic attack (TIA).
Seizures can also produce abrupt changes in awareness, sensation (feeling), emotion, or thinking. Abnormal movements of the body, such as muscular twitching, may or may not be present.
