“spectre? really? i doubt omega needs you here. feel like you’ve got bigger fish to fry.” it wasn’t the smartest idea, calling out a spectre like that, but on omega, that title hardly meant much unless it was under aria’s belt. he goes back to fixing up his blade, hardly paying her any mind. “but, i’ll bite. ‘specially if you’re around these parts. what exactly can i help you with, huh?”

the general snarls, cursing the spirits he holds in such high regard. he hears them echoing around him in the split-second pops of gun fire and the shouting and groaning of his men. they’re tired of fighting and he knows it, but he can’t give up-- not when menae is so close to being over-run. ‘ you spectre’s aren’t really my type, y’know. ‘ he laughs to himself, a momentary relapse into denial before falling back to grim features. ‘ too quiet, to sneaky. running around, doing the council’s business. loud and obnoxious is more of my style. ‘

The funniest part was that Shepard had nothing against the other Spectre, not personally. Even that skirmish could be easily treated as sparring session rather than anything else.
“Come on. Show your hundreds-of-years experience,” she taunted knowing exactly that she might just get what she kept asking for oh so eagerly. Otherwise it wouldn’t be fun, would it?
Not waiting for any movement from her opponent’s side she activated her biotic field again, ready to act whenever.

Spectres. A single word that quivered not only civilians but criminals and mercenaries alike; even if they were for very differing reasons. Most civilians ( including the authorities ) feared the class of Spectres because they were known to do anything to get the job done; including KILL anyone in their way and being excused because they’re protecting the GALAXY. Wave the badge around and all eyes turn opposite directions, reciting how they saw nothing.
But the mercs...
It depended really who you asked; cocky bastards never gave it much a second thought and would BRAZENLY challenge them. The more seasoned veterans of the trade knew the more out of the way you stayed the longer you lived; don’t be too important or you might go missing and lastly? Don’t go toe to toe with em. If there’s one group in the whole of Galaxy that is relentless in chasing its quarry its the Spectres ( unless you bought them off; which wasn’t cheap ).
Manah? She didn’t much care but knew not to go biting hands she was unfamiliar with. To add SALT to the wound it was an asari; it boiled her blood. The air of authority and arrogance made her want to scream and defy everything just because she could--but impulses were better reigned in. Best not to be an eye sore till she passed.
