After a week of hard work and practice, VZ won shirttails! It was incredible. I had so much fun learning the dance and performing. When they called out the winner, I didn’t even realize that we won until I touched the trophy! The winners (VZ girls and Couch boys) jumped in the fountain and then we celebrated our win on front street and in the brick pit. It was an amazing experience!

Roommates

Finding somebody to rend my room while I am gone took longer than expected. First, a colleague wanted to move in for the year, then one of my best friends wanted to rent my room, then my cousin’s girlfriend asked if she could have it. All of them ended up canceling.

So I put an ad for the room in a few facebook-groups. From that point on it all happened fairly quickly. Several girls wrote me, most of them exchange students. In the end, there were six girls that wanted to rent my room. Two Spanish ERASMUS-students, a Mexican au-pair, an American au-pair and two Austrian students. After those who were in Austria came over to have a look at the room and our whole flat Jana and Leon got to choose whom they wanted to live with for the next two semesters. They wanted somebody from another country so the Austrian girls were out. They chose Sidney, an au-pair from Texas who starts to study at Graz in August. I’m glad that this all worked out so easily in the end. Now she just has to sign the contract and pay rent starting in August.

Another roommate-thing that happened last week: I got the login details for the Hendrix CampusWeb and webmail. On the CampusWeb I can check my housing details. This means I now know which dorm I will live in and who my roommate is. I will be a Veasey-girl and my roommate’s name is Trilby. :) 

I’m getting more excited every day. :D

Here's a bit of fun, John Delk threw me this chorus so I played around with it a bit. Started out as a slow ballad then this happened .... I'll try and do a slow one as well but this was a bit of a fun ... I kind of imagine a bloody New Orleans jazz band striking up in the middle of it ... have a great day people and thanks for listening. There's my old Hillbilly mate Alesis on the drums, with me on voice, guitar, banjo, bass and slide :)
